Pin-like pain in chest after eating

Every day, we have to ensure three meals a day. Even those who want to lose weight cannot stop eating. Food can provide our body with a large amount of nutrients to maintain life. However, some friends, due to certain diseases, will experience needle-like pain in the chest after meals. Why does this happen? In fact, it is most likely caused by gastric ulcer disease. Let’s take a look at the main symptoms of gastric ulcer.

Gastric ulcer

Everyone knows that gastric ulcers are prone to recurrence, and if not treated in time, they are likely to develop. In fact, gastric ulcer lesions also have signs, which can make patients realize that their condition has worsened. This way, timely treatment will not lead to the occurrence of gastric cancer, because gastric ulcers are relatively serious stomach diseases.

The four main symptoms of gastric ulcer lesions are as follows:

(1) Changes in the nature and pattern of pain Pain is the most common and main symptom of ulcer disease. The pain is usually localized dull pain, burning pain or dull pain in the upper abdomen. The pain of typical ulcer disease has a certain regularity and is often closely related to diet. For example, duodenal ulcer often causes pain before meals (i.e. pain on an empty stomach); typical gastric ulcer causes pain after meals, often occurring 1 to 2 hours after a meal, lasting one or two hours, and then gradually subsiding. However, for some ulcer patients, the pain regularity is not very obvious, and the nature of the pain varies from person to person. In addition, the pain of ulcer disease is often aggravated by cold weather, eating raw, cold and hard foods, fatigue, staying up late, and mood swings. If the pain loses its original regularity, becomes irregular, or becomes a persistent dull pain, or the nature of the pain changes significantly from before, you should be alert to malignant changes and go to the hospital for further examination.

(2) The treatment effect of ulcer disease is reduced. Although ulcer disease is prone to recurrence, the symptoms can be relieved after taking anti-ulcer drugs each time an attack occurs. If a person with a history of ulcers does not experience pain relief or has no significant effect following conventional treatment, it may indicate malignant transformation.

(3) Progressive weight loss and anemia Patients with long-term chronic ulcer disease may be weak but not necessarily emaciated. Unless the ulcer is chronic or bleeding profusely, the patient generally does not have obvious signs of anemia. If gastric ulcer patients over the age of 40 or 50 have loss of appetite, indigestion, nausea, vomiting, vomiting of old food or dark red food, general fatigue and progressive weight loss in a short period of time, it may also be a sign of malignant transformation of ulcer disease.

(4) Relatively fixed masses. Gastric ulcers or duodenal ulcers generally do not form masses. If malignant transformation occurs, the ulcer will become larger and harder, and in the later stages a lump can be felt in the left upper abdomen. The lump is hard, the surface is nodular and rough, and it gradually increases in size and is painful when pressed. The pain may radiate to the back, left waist, navel, chest, precordial area, and even behind the sternum. When this mass appears, it is likely that the gastric ulcer has become cancerous.

Gastric ulcer lesions are very scary and can threaten one's life, so you must pay attention to the above-mentioned symptoms of gastric ulcer lesions. Once discovered, you must go to the hospital for treatment. In normal times, eat less food that is irritating to the stomach, and don't eat too much of something delicious, have irregular meals, etc., which will increase the burden on the stomach and affect the health of the stomach.
