Lymph node metastasis in the lungs can be very harmful. When the tumor metastasizes to the lymph nodes, it often causes swelling of the lymph nodes, which appear as superficial lymph nodes. This often leads to bleeding in patients and causes lumps. For lung cancer patients, it can cause shortness of breath, difficulty breathing, hoarseness, lack of strength to walk, and ulcers. Is pulmonary lymph node metastasis dangerous? 1. Bleeding The symptoms of bleeding are mainly caused by cancer tissue invading blood vessels or rupture of small blood vessels in cancer tissue. 2. The tumor is formed by the malignant proliferation of cancer cells and can be felt by hand on the surface or deep inside the body. Cancer of the thyroid, parotid gland, or breast may be felt superficially under the skin. When the tumor metastasizes to the lymph nodes, it can cause lymph node enlargement. Some superficial lymph nodes, such as the cervical lymph nodes and axillary lymph nodes, are easy to feel. 3. Shortness of breath Almost all patients with advanced lung cancer experience shortness of breath to varying degrees. Normal tissue fluid produced by the lungs and heart muscle is returned by the lymph nodes in the middle of the chest. If these lymph nodes are blocked by a tumor, the tissue fluid will accumulate in the pericardium to form a pericardial effusion or in the chest cavity to form a pleural effusion. Both of the above situations can cause shortness of breath. 4. Hoarseness The recurrent laryngeal nerve that controls the left side's pronunciation function runs down from the neck to the chest, bypasses the large blood vessels of the heart, and returns upward to the larynx, thereby controlling the left side of the pronunciation organ. Therefore, if the tumor invades the left side of the mediastinum and compresses the recurrent laryngeal nerve, hoarseness will occur, but there will be no sore throat or other symptoms of upper respiratory tract infection. 5. Pain Pain often occurs when cancer enters the middle or late stages. Severe pain that becomes unbearable, persists day and night and is a symptom of death in the late stage of lung cancer. If it occurs, it is usually controlled with medication. Pain is usually caused by cancer cells invading the nerves. Many people feel extreme pain in the late stages of the disease, and even medicine is ineffective. 6. Ulcers are caused by the rapid growth of cancerous tissue of certain surface cancers, insufficient nutrition supply and tissue necrosis. For example, some breast cancers may cause crater-like or cauliflower-like ulcers in the breast, which secrete bloody secretions and may have a foul odor when infected. In addition, stomach and colon cancer can also form ulcers, which can usually only be observed through gastroscopy and colonoscopy. |
