My chest hurts so much

My chest hurts so much

Sometimes, when we experience pain in our body, there is something wrong. Many people think it is chest pain, but it is very likely heart pain or pain in other organs. If our chest hurts extremely much, it is recommended that we go to the hospital for a check-up immediately, and do not think that the pain will be relieved after a while. Because if it is a heart disease, if it is not treated in a short period of time, the patient may lose his life.

Many people have experienced chest pain, and with the increasing pressure of life and work, the incidence of this disease is also getting higher and higher. Since chest pain often gets better quickly, many people don't take it seriously. However, there are many causes of chest pain, and the severity of the pain varies. Some may not be urgent and heal on their own after a period of time, while others may be life-threatening.

Therefore, when you have chest pain, you can promptly identify the cause, take effective measures, and receive timely treatment to avoid serious consequences.

1. Angina pectoris

Simply put, angina pectoris is insufficient blood supply to the coronary arteries, resulting in acute and transient myocardial ischemia and hypoxia, which in turn causes chest pain or severe chest discomfort.

Angina pectoris is a manifestation of coronary heart disease. Its typical feature is paroxysmal squeezing or twisting pain in the chest, mainly located behind the sternum or left chest, and can radiate to the neck or left upper limb. More serious patients may also have a feeling of being near-death, with each attack lasting from a few minutes to more than ten minutes. Symptoms can be relieved by sitting or resting on the spot or taking nitrates. If the symptoms cannot be relieved, call 120 immediately and receive professional treatment from a cardiologist.

2. Myocardial infarction

Myocardial infarction and angina pectoris are both clinical syndromes caused by insufficient coronary blood supply, myocardial ischemia and hypoxia, and the pain locations are similar, but the pain of myocardial infarction is more severe and persistent, lasting for several hours, and is often accompanied by serious complications such as shock and heart failure, which may be fatal.

The first thing to do after an attack is to rest and stop activities. If the symptoms cannot be relieved, call 120 immediately and seek intervention from a cardiologist.

3. Pneumothorax

Pneumothorax is one of the common diseases in thoracic surgery. It often occurs after running, lifting heavy objects or physical labor. It can occur in healthy people without obvious lesions, especially young people with a slender build. It can also occur in patients with other lung diseases.

The most typical symptom is sudden chest pain, which is mostly needle-like or knife-like pain and lasts for a short time. It may be accompanied by symptoms such as difficulty breathing and irritating cough. In severe cases, irritability and even shock may occur.

If pneumothorax occurs, you should rest in bed immediately and get enough oxygen. If the condition is severe, you need to seek medical attention and be treated by a thoracic surgeon in a timely manner.

4. Aortic Dissection

The aorta is the main blood vessel in the body, bearing the pressure directly from the beating heart and with a huge blood flow. If there is a tear in the intima layer, without proper and timely treatment, the chance of rupture is very high and the mortality rate is also very high.

Typical symptoms include sudden, severe, tearing chest and back pain, and severe cases may include heart failure and syncope. Death may occur suddenly or within hours to days.

5. Digestive tract diseases

Such as gastrointestinal ulcers and intestinal diseases. The "heart pain" caused by gastrointestinal ulcers is often related to eating and hunger. Patients will experience "heart pain" when they are hungry or eating. The pain lasts for more than ten minutes. Some patients are accompanied by a burning sensation, acid reflux or abdominal distension. Eating a small amount can relieve the symptoms.

For chest pain, you must first find out the cause of the chest pain. If the above symptoms occur, it is recommended to go to the hospital as soon as possible. Even if the symptoms are not urgent, it is recommended to go to the hospital for examination to find out the cause as soon as possible to avoid missing the opportunity for treatment.
