Can Chinese medicine pulse diagnosis reveal inflammation of the esophagus and stomach?

We found that traditional Chinese medicine is very magical. When we went to a traditional Chinese medicine hospital for examination, we found that just by taking our pulse, we could tell whether our internal organs were healthy. Inflammation could indeed be seen, but to check the specific inflammation of the esophagus and stomach, we still needed to undergo examination to understand it more thoroughly.

The best way to check your esophagus

For the examination of the esophagus, if you want to see it more accurately, it is best to choose esophagoscopy. In this case, you can directly observe the local lesions of the esophagus, whether there are inflammatory exudation, bleeding, erosion and other manifestations. If there are local ulcers or even tumors, and mucosal protrusions, you can also perform a pathological examination. Therefore, esophageal endoscopy is a very good method for examining the esophagus, but you can also choose esophageal barium meal examination, which is very valuable for screening some diseases.

In addition, the esophageal barium meal examination is convenient, simple, and painless to the patient. It is generally used for some diseases such as esophageal cancer, esophageal ulcer, and has a high diagnostic value for other esophageal tumors. The next method is to directly obtain pathology through esophagoscopy, which is usually caused by ulcers, tumors, and mucosal protrusions. In addition, local B-ultrasound examination can also be performed to detect whether there are local tumor diseases.

Therefore, there are many methods for esophageal examination. Generally, a barium meal examination is performed first, and then an esophageal examination is performed.

Indications for gastroscopy: If you have a poor diet, belching, acid reflux or upper abdominal pain that is obviously related to eating, the pain occurs 2 hours after a meal, is relieved after eating or hurts when sleeping at night, or vomits coffee-colored liquid, these indicate that your stomach, duodenum or esophagus may have lesions. Gastroscopy is necessary in the following situations: unexplained abdominal symptoms, long-term upper abdominal pain; suspected esophageal, gastric and duodenal inflammation, ulcers and tumors; upper gastrointestinal bleeding or melena with unknown cause and location; patients with upper gastrointestinal lesions suspected by gastrointestinal X-ray, CT or B-ultrasound but unable to be diagnosed; postoperative monitoring of gastric and esophageal tumors.

Preparation before the examination: Do not eat or drink on the morning of the examination. Patients clinically suspected of having gastric retention must fast for 3 days before undergoing microscopic examination, and intravenous infusion can be used to maintain the condition within 3 days. If you have already had a barium meal X-ray examination, you can have a gastroscopy after 3 days of rest. Please bring a dry towel and previous gastroscopy reports on the day of examination.

How to cooperate with the doctor during the examination: The entire examination takes 5-15 minutes. The patient is required to follow the doctor's instructions, lie on the left side, clench his teeth (dentures must be removed). When the doctor tells you to swallow, you swallow as you normally would. With this action, the gastroscope will enter the esophagus, stomach and duodenum. At this time, exhale gently, try to control vomiting, and relax your whole body, and the entire examination will be completed smoothly.
