Anti-inflammatory drugs for simple appendicitis

Anti-inflammatory drugs for simple appendicitis

There is a part in people's stomach called the appendix. Although the appendix does not have much impact on people, it can play a very important role. It can absorb many bacteria in the human body and prevent other parts from being infected by bacteria. However, some people often suffer from appendicitis. Appendicitis is divided into acute appendicitis and chronic appendicitis. So what anti-inflammatory drugs can be taken for simple appendicitis?

There are a large number of bacteria in the appendix cavity, including aerobic bacteria and anaerobic bacteria. The species are consistent with those in the colon, mainly Escherichia coli, Enterococcus and Bacteroides fragilis, etc., and most of them are Gram-negative bacteria. When the appendix cavity is blocked, a large amount of mucus such as fecal masses and stones is retained in the cavity, causing the pressure in the cavity to gradually increase. Excessive pressure can compress the mucosa, causing it to necrotize and ulcerate, creating conditions for bacterial invasion. If the intracavitary pressure continues to increase, the appendix wall is also under pressure. First, venous return is blocked, venous thrombosis is formed, the appendix wall becomes edematous and ischemic, and the bacteria in the cavity can penetrate into the abdominal cavity. In severe cases, the arteries are also blocked, causing part or even the entire appendix to become necrotic. This is the pathological change of appendicitis.

Early home medication: Medication should be taken early, preferably when the inflammation can be controlled before it develops into peritonitis. The following drugs are available:

(1) Penicillin, 800,000 units each time, intramuscular injection once every 6 hours. An allergy test must be done before use.

(2) Streptomycin, 0.5 g each time, intramuscular injection once every 12 hours. It should be used simultaneously with penicillin.

(3) Gentamycin, 80,000 units each time, intramuscular injection once every 8 hours.

(4) Pioneer IV, 0.5 g each time, orally 4 times a day.

(5) Spiramycin, 0.2 g each time, orally 4 to 6 times a day. [Only used for chronic appendicitis or early stage of acute appendicitis]. If the lesion worsens or recurs, early surgery is recommended.
