What is Date Palm

Dates are a type of date that are grown in tropical regions. Unlike ordinary dates that are high in sugar, dates have a relatively low sugar content, so people with diabetes can choose this type of date. This kind of dates is rich in nutrients, but it is cold in nature. It is not suitable for people with poor spleen and stomach function, as it will increase the burden on the spleen and stomach and cause harm. It is also not suitable for women to eat during menstruation, as it will cause cold air to invade the uterus.

Dates = Iraqi dates, but they are not the same as candied dates. Iraqi dates are another name for dates.

Dates are produced in tropical or subtropical regions such as the Middle East, North Africa, and Fujian, Guangxi, Yunnan, and Guangdong in China. Dates are rich in nutrients and contain high levels of fructose. Since fructose has the lowest glycemic index, they can be consumed in moderation by diabetic patients. In addition to being rich in fructose, dates also contain a variety of vitamins, proteins, minerals and other nutrients. Since ancient times, they have been regarded as a good nourishing food. The sugar juice extracted from dates can be condensed and used as seasoning. It is often used to cook meat and is sweet but not greasy. Dates are sweet, warm, non-toxic, and have the following effects: tonifying the middle and replenishing Qi, relieving cough and moistening the lungs, resolving phlegm and relieving asthma.

Who should not eat dates:

1. People with spleen and stomach deficiency

People with weak spleen and stomach have poor spleen and stomach and cannot eat cold foods. Eating dates will increase the burden on the stomach and intestines, and may cause symptoms of abdominal pain, acid reflux and heartburn. Therefore, people with weak spleen and stomach should not eat dates.

2. People who are prone to diarrhea

People who are prone to diarrhea have a poor digestive system, and dates promote digestion and aid defecation, so eating dates will make the diarrhea more severe.

3. People with frequent urination should eat with caution

The flesh of dates is fresh and tender, and has a diuretic effect when eaten, so people with frequent urination are best not to eat them, as it will aggravate their condition.

4. Be careful when eating during menstruation

Women should eat some warm food during menstruation, and it is best not to eat cold food, especially when the menstruation is heavy, so as not to cause harm to the body.

5. People with colds should eat less

Patients who are suffering from cold and fever should generally not take dates. Because palpitations become more severe when you have a fever, taking dates at this time will improve blood circulation, making palpitations more severe, thus aggravating the condition.

6. Patients with dark purple tongue

Traditional Chinese medicine believes that the main reason why the tongue appears dark purple is due to blood stasis in the body. If you take ginseng at this time, it will not only fail to help the qi and blood flow smoothly, but will make the stagnation of qi and blood more serious, leading to hot hands and feet, and irritability.
