Causes of Bad Breath

Causes of Bad Breath

Many people have bad breath problems in life. As soon as people with bad breath open their mouths to speak, they will give people a very bad feeling. It can be said that bad breath will not only affect one's own quality of life, but also affect personal interpersonal relationships. Therefore, for people with bad breath problems, they must find a way to solve it and treat it in a targeted manner. To treat the problem of bad breath, we must first find out the problem that causes bad breath. Only in this way can we treat it in a targeted manner.

There are many reasons for bad breath, such as eating some smelly food or some gastrointestinal diseases can actually cause bad breath. So what other factors in life can cause bad breath? Let's take a look at what Chinese medicine believes are the problems of bad breath.

The "intestines" and "stomach" mentioned in traditional Chinese medicine do not refer to specific human organs like in Western medicine, but should be understood as the digestive system as a whole, and the mouth is the beginning of the entire digestive system.

The "fire" or "heat" mentioned in traditional Chinese medicine is describing the phenomenon of "hyperactivity" of a function. The digestive bacteria and digestive enzymes in the mouth allow food to be initially digested during the chewing process. The functions (abilities) of these bacteria and enzymes that assist digestion are particularly "hyperactive" (active) in the high acidity environment of the mouth, and they deeply digest all organic matter in the mouth, such as food residues, including organic nutrients in saliva. Subsequently, these deeply digested substances are easily oxidized and turned into corrupt substances after coming into contact with air. This is the cause of bad breath. Why does the oral cavity's "hyperactive" digestive function occur? This is mainly due to the excessively high acid concentration in the mouth. Under excessively high acid concentrations, the various bacteria and enzymes that assist digestion in the mouth will show a "hyperactive" state, which is a state of "stomach fire and gastrointestinal heat."

Everyone knows that vomit will become smelly after a while after it comes into contact with the air. Similarly, the extraordinary digestive function of the mouth will also lead to the continuous production of corrupt tiny substances, thus forming stubborn bad breath that is difficult to eliminate.

The above are some of the problems that Chinese medicine believes cause bad breath. Bad breath can be said to have a great impact on a person’s life. Therefore, if you also have the problem of bad breath, then you must find a way to actively treat it. In addition, you should also pay attention to your personal oral hygiene on a daily basis. Only in this way can you be a person without bad breath.
