Dull pain in left chest when breathing

Dull pain in left chest when breathing

If there is a dull pain in the left chest when breathing, there are many causes, such as pneumothorax or pleurisy. At this time, you should go to the respiratory department for examination in time, and find out the specific cause through chest CT and chest X-ray. Pleurisy is a relatively common disease. If it is not treated in time, it may cause greater harm.

Is pleurisy really difficult to cure?

Meningitis, also known as "pleurisy", is an inflammation of the pleura. Meningitis is an inflammation of the membrane caused by irritation of the pleura by pathogenic factors (usually viruses or bacteria). After the inflammation subsides, the pleura may return to normal, or the two layers of pleura may adhere to each other. It is caused by a variety of causes, such as infection, malignant tumors, connective tissue diseases, pulmonary embolism, etc.

What are the characteristics of pleurisy that are difficult to treat?

1) Due to irregular medication, short medication time, intermittent treatment, insufficient medication, etc., drug resistance leads to unsatisfactory results; when it is first discovered, it is primary drug resistance, and the first-line Western medicine for anti-tuberculosis is ineffective, and the effect of changing to second-line drugs is also not ideal. Because the use of Western anti-tuberculosis drugs causes serious damage to liver function, severe decrease in white blood cells and platelets, or severe allergies to most Western anti-tuberculosis drugs, etc., Western medicine treatment cannot be continued. 2) Tuberculous meningitis complicated with diabetes is often accompanied by tuberculosis in other parts of the body; patients with very low immune function, such as children, the elderly and the weak, and long-term use of immunosuppressants or hormones lead to repeated recurrences of the disease. A capsular membrane inflammation is formed, making the pleural effusion difficult to absorb. This is also the most common and difficult to treat reason for inflammation. Meningitis was accompanied by interlobar effusion and tuberculoma formation in the thoracic cavity.

3) When the disease is discovered, it is bilateral pleural effusion, or accompanied by multiple serosal effusions in other parts of the body, or there is tuberculosis in multiple parts of the body such as pulmonary tuberculosis and bone tuberculosis. The treatment is tricky and difficult, and the efficacy is also average. These patients often have low immunity and atypical meningitis symptoms, which leads to delayed medical treatment, resulting in complicated conditions when they seek medical treatment. Recurrent bloody pleural effusion has ruled out pleural tumors and other causes of bloody pleural effusion, supporting the possibility of tuberculosis.
