IVF Process Timeline

IVF Process Timeline

In life, there are many infertile couples who choose to use IVF to continue the next generation. In fact, IVF is a blessing for infertile couples, and the health of babies bred by this method is the same as that of normal babies. However, before doing IVF, you must take good care of your body. So what is the timetable for the IVF process?

1. Introduction to the IVF cycle process

1. Preliminary preparation process

After deciding on the assisted reproductive method (doctor's appointment) → prepare fertility certificates (ID cards of both parties, marriage certificates of both parties) → complete preoperative examination (if abnormalities are found, you must go to the relevant department for treatment) → write medical records → prepare to start the cycle

2. Time required for IVF (about 1-2 months)

Hormones and ultrasound on day 2-3 of menstruation → Enter the cycle (B-ultrasound room table) → Arrive at the department before 9:00 am on the same day as specified, register, draw blood, and do B-ultrasound → When the follicles are large, follow the doctor's instructions for the husband to ejaculate →

Night injection → The woman retrieves the eggs and the husband retrieves the sperm → 3 days after the egg retrieval, check the embryo status + B-ultrasound, transfer or freeze the embryo (5-6 days after the blastocyst transfer) → Come to the department for blood HCG test 12 or 14 days after the transfer

2. Introduction of the Cycle Plan

The goal of the ovulation induction program is to obtain a sufficient number of eggs in a single treatment cycle to ensure the formation of embryos that can be transplanted, thereby improving the pregnancy rate and the efficiency of treatment. As a result, various ovulation-inducing drugs and programs have been developed.

At present, our center commonly uses the following cycle plans: short-acting long plan, antagonist plan, ultra-long plan, short plan, micro-stimulation plan, etc. We will develop an individualized ovulation induction plan based on your situation. Please do not make blind comparisons.

IVF Egg Retrieval Cycle Information

1. The importance of B-ultrasound monitoring of ovulation and determination of serum hormone levels during ovulation induction: Go to the department before 9 am on the prescribed time, have blood drawn and B-ultrasound performed according to the doctor's orders, and consult the attending physician after waiting for the results. Because the controlled superovulation program varies from person to person, the doctor will comprehensively consider the woman's age, weight, ovarian function and other factors to decide the dosage of ovulation-inducing drugs to be used by each person. After 3-5 days of use, B-ultrasound and serum hormone testing are required to adjust the drug dosage in order to achieve an effective ovulation-inducing effect, and do not blindly compare with others.

2. When the follicles develop to a certain extent, you must follow the doctor's advice and ask your husband to ejaculate in preparation for the subsequent egg retrieval operation.

3. Night injection day: When the follicles grow large enough and meet the conditions for egg retrieval, take the medicine as prescribed by the doctor and get the night injection at the prescribed time.

4. On the morning of egg retrieval, the couple should arrive at the department on time at 8 am, register, and bring their documents (marriage certificates and ID cards). If the husband's semen has severe oligospermia, testicular puncture, sperm donation, or sperm retrieval difficulties, the doctor or nurse should be informed in advance so that we can prepare in advance.

5. Embryo transfer is performed 3-6 days after egg retrieval. Luteal support drugs are used starting on the day of egg retrieval to prepare for the transfer. On the day of transplantation, you need to hold your urine appropriately to facilitate the smooth progress of the operation. Come to the hospital for follow-up 12 or 14 days after transplantation and check serum HCG.

6. Take medications as directed by your doctor, do not take or stop taking medications without permission, and avoid hot compresses, massage, and strenuous exercise after egg retrieval and transplantation.

7. If you have any questions or feel unwell during the ovulation induction process, please feel free to contact us.

8. Follow-up: We will follow up all successful pregnancies until the end of pregnancy. Please cooperate with the hospital to follow up on the pregnancy and delivery results. We will protect the privacy of both husband and wife. Please call us to tell us the follow-up results.
