4 month old baby hemangioma

4 month old baby hemangioma

Hemangiomas are among the more troublesome types of tumors, and they are also more serious when they occur. As we all know, the blood vessels in the human body are relatively thin, so if they are compressed by tumors for a long time, the blood vessels will rupture. Some parents find that their babies are behaving abnormally and after examination they discover that their babies have hemangiomas. The impact of hemangioma on babies is much greater than that on adults. So, what should we do if our 4-month-old baby has hemangioma?

1. Can infantile hemangioma be cured?

1. Surgical treatment

Surgery is the use of surgical methods to remove the diseased tissue in order to achieve the purpose of treating hemangioma. However, in general, the hemangioma lesion area is rich in blood vessels and has a large blood volume, and the amount of bleeding during surgery is extremely large, often causing severe hemorrhagic shock. A large amount of whole blood needs to be transfused during the operation, making the operation difficult and highly dangerous.

2. Laser treatment

The principle is a high-temperature superficial cauterization to coagulate the hemangioma tissue and achieve the purpose of treating the hemangioma. However, the depth of laser treatment is generally controlled within 0.2-0.4mm of the surface skin. If it exceeds 0.4mm, obvious scars will be produced. It is easy to cause bleeding and scar deformity to deep hemangiomas, so it cannot be widely promoted.

3. Hormone therapy

Hormone therapy is a method of taking adrenal cortex hormones orally. Although a small number of patients can achieve satisfactory therapeutic effects from oral corticosteroids, this therapy has significant side effects and should not be used casually. The pros and cons should be weighed.

4. Isotope therapy

Isotopes are highly radioactive substances that can cause great harm to the human body. Isotopes can only have a certain effect on hemangiomas on a small area of the body surface. They have no good therapeutic effect on hemangiomas deep under the skin and will leave scars. In addition, the areas treated with isotopes will have a large amount of spots or discoloration (such as vitiligo).

2. Prevention of Infant Hemangioma

1. First of all, do not take medicines or foods containing estrogen during pregnancy. Some scholars believe that the increase in estrogen content in the human body is one of the causes of hemangioma.

2. Secondly, you may consider not breastfeeding your newborn baby. This is also a consideration to avoid an increase in estrogen in the baby's body.

3. Mothers should do a good job of preparing for pregnancy. Pregnant women should eat less spicy, cold and other irritating foods to avoid stimulating the embryo and affecting its normal development. Studies have found that spicy foods can stimulate the development of the embryo, which may cause abnormal or malformed development of the baby's blood vessels and other tissues.

4. To prevent hemangioma, you should also pay attention to the balanced nutrition of the baby. A balanced nutritional combination for infants is beneficial to enhancing the resistance and immunity of infants and young children, making them less likely to suffer from diseases.
