What are the effects and functions of Dryopteris

What people encounter most often in life is various plants, especially in some rural areas. Many plants have medicinal effects on the human body, and Houttuynia cordata is a typical plant. However, many people do not understand the role of this plant and do not know what effects it has on the human body. So, what are the effects and functions of Dryopteris?

First, what are the effects and functions of Dryopteris japonicus? It is an annual herb, 10 to 60 cm tall. The whole plant is covered with white powdery hairs, and the juice that flows out after breaking it turns blue-black after a few minutes. The stem is erect or prostrate at the base, rooting on the ground, and is green or reddish brown. Leaves are opposite; leaf blades are linear-elliptic to lanceolate, 3 to 10 cm long, 0.5 to 2.5 cm wide, entire or slightly serrated, and covered with white powdery hairs on both sides. The capitula is axillary or terminal, the involucre is bell-shaped, with 5 to 6 bracts, and the receptacle is flat, with a few ligulate flowers and most tubular flowers on it; the ligulate flowers are female, with white corolla, developed or undeveloped; the tubular flowers are bisexual, yellow-green, and fully developed. Achenes are yellow-black, about 3mm long, and without pappus. The flowering period is from July to September, and the fruiting period is from September to October. Grown on roadsides, wetlands, ditches or fields. Distributed all over the country.

Second, antibacterial effect: The plate hole method was used to prove that Eclipta prostrata has antibacterial effects on Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus typhi, Shigella sonnei, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. 2. Hepatoprotective effect: benzene, acetone, petroleum ether and 50% ethanol extracts of Polygonum multiflorum all have protective effects on liver damage caused by carbon tetrachloride, among which 50% ethanol extract has the strongest effect. In the liver injury model of mice and rats induced by carbon tetrachloride, the ethanol extract of Helianthus annuus had a significant protective effect on liver function, as observed by the increase in AST (aspartate aminotransferase), ALT (alanine aminotransferase), total protein, total bilirubin and titanium sulfobromide clearance rate. 3. Effect on immune function: Oral administration of 10g/kg and 20g/kg of Eclipta prostrata decoction to mice can significantly increase the thymus weight of young mice, improve the carbon particle clearance rate of mice and the number of white blood cells in peripheral blood; significantly increase the degree of ear swelling of mice caused by 2,4-dinitrochlorobenzene (DNCB) and the delayed-type foot pad swelling of mice caused by sheep red blood cells (SRBC), and significantly increase the percentage of T lymphocytes in peripheral blood; but it has no significant effect on the secretory antibody function of mouse spleen cells and the content of serum hemolysin antibody. The above results indicate that Herba Lycoris Radiatae can significantly enhance nonspecific immunity and cellular immunity, but seems to have no effect on humoral immunity. The 20% enol extract of Eclipta prostrata significantly promoted the proliferation of T and B lymphocytes; the monomer compound S2S3S8 significantly promoted lymphocyte transformation and increased the production of interleukin II.

4. Anti-mutagenic effect: The water-soluble extract of Eclipta prostrata, 7.5g/kg, 15g/kg, and 30g/kg, administered or intraperitoneally to mice, had a significant inhibitory effect on cyclophosphamide-induced polychromatic erythrocyte micronuclei in mice, indicating that the drug has a certain protective effect on chromosome damage. The anti-mutagenic effect and enhancement of immune function of Eclipta prostrata may be part of the pharmacological basis of its kidney-tonifying and anti-aging effects.

What are the effects and functions of Houttuynia cordata? Houttuynia cordata is also called ink fountain grass. It is cool in nature, sweet and sour in taste, and has the functions of nourishing yin and tonifying the kidney, cooling blood and stopping bleeding. It is suitable for dizziness, premature graying of hair, hematemesis, hematuria, epistaxis, bloody stool, leucorrhea, stranguria, etc. caused by liver and kidney yin deficiency. Eclipta prostrata contains saponins, volatile oils, tannins, vitamin A, ecliptazone and other ingredients. Modern pharmacological research on Herba Cynomorii Fructus has shown that it can restore the weight of animals' degenerated immune organs to normal, thereby improving cellular and humoral immune functions. The decline of immune function is the main cause of illness and aging. The effect of Eclipta prostrata on immune function may be the pharmacological basis for its fitness, nourishing and longevity effects. As a tonic, Eclipta prostrata can be used and prepared according to the following usage and recipes. Eclipta prostrata, ginger and honey juice: remove impurities from fresh Eclipta prostrata, wash, chop and mash it, put it into a sterilized gauze bag, squeeze out the juice, add a little honey and ground ginger to make a paste. The dosage can be determined at your discretion. Take 2 to 3 small spoons each time, twice a day. It can be taken with warm water or a small amount of warm rice wine. It can treat premature graying of hair caused by kidney deficiency. Eclipta honey juice: Mix fresh Eclipta juice and honey in equal amounts, take 20 ml each time, 3 to 4 times a day, it can be used as an auxiliary treatment for diphtheria. Houttuynia cordata and five-seed soup: 10 grams each of Houttuynia cordata, Schisandra chinensis, Cuscuta australis, and Torreya grandis seeds, 20 grams each of Ligustrum lucidum and Lycium barbarum. Put in a casserole, add water and boil for 20 minutes. Take the juice and drink it, 1 dose per day, and it can be taken for 5 to 7 days. It can treat symptoms such as dizziness, blurred vision, insomnia, nightmares, premature graying of hair, and weakness in the waist and knees caused by liver and kidney deficiency.
