Traditional Chinese Medicine Treatment

It has a good effect on gastric congestion. Chronic gastric edema is mostly classified as epigastric pain and stomach distension in traditional Chinese medicine. Seven common types:

a. Weak spleen and stomach type: Spleen deficiency or irregular diet and irregular hunger and satiety can damage the spleen and stomach and weaken them, which are manifested as fullness and pain in the stomach, loss of appetite, abdominal distension after eating, fatigue and weakness. The treatment is to strengthen the spleen and stomach;

b. Spleen and stomach deficiency and cold type: Spleen deficiency is more serious, spleen yang is insufficient, or eating too much raw and cold food damages spleen yang, causing yin and cold to accumulate inside the body, manifested as dull pain in the stomach, relieved by warm pressure, pain relieved after meals, worse pain on an empty stomach, and cold limbs. Treatment is to warm the spleen and stomach, relieve acute pain;

c. Liver Qi Invading the Stomach Type: Emotional distress, anger and depression damage the liver, liver Qi invading the stomach, Qi blockage, and abnormal ascending and descending, manifested as bloating and pain in the stomach and flanks, frequent belching, relieved after belching or passing gas, or accompanied by symptoms such as irritability, chest tightness, sighing, neck tightness, and a foreign body sensation in the throat. Treatment is to soothe the liver, regulate qi and relieve stomach pain;

d. Liver fire attacking the stomach type: Liver qi stagnation turns into fire over time, and liver fire attacks the stomach, causing burning pain in the stomach, bitter taste in the mouth, irritability, and dry stool. The treatment is to clear the liver and stomach fire;

e. Deficiency of stomach yin type: liver fire burns stomach yin or craving for spicy food consumes stomach fluid, causing dull pain in the stomach, inability to eat despite hunger, dry mouth and throat, and dry and hard stools. Treatment is to nourish yin and stomach;

f. Blood stasis in the stomach network type: Liver depression and qi stagnation or spleen deficiency will cause blood circulation to be blocked over time, causing blood stasis in the stomach, resulting in stagnant or cutting pain in the stomach, pain in a specific location, and resistance to pressure in the painful area. The tongue is dark or has dark spots of blood stasis. Shixiao Powder can be used to promote blood circulation, remove blood stasis and relieve pain, combined with warming and nourishing the stomach qi;

g. Mixed cold and heat type: There are symptoms of stomach heat such as bitter taste in the mouth, dry mouth, bad breath, burning sensation in the stomach, desire to eat cold food, dry stool, etc., as well as symptoms of spleen cold such as stomach discomfort, stomach pain, stomach bloating after being afraid of cold stomach, eating cold food or the stomach being exposed to cold.

General treatment

Generally, anti-infection and gastric acid-suppressing drugs are used for treatment. Amoxicillin, clarithromycin, omeprazole, etc. are recommended for treatment, and stomach-strengthening and digestion-promoting tablets are used appropriately to promote digestion. At the same time, pay attention to regular diet and hygiene, avoid eating spicy food, get enough rest and keep a happy mood. Be careful not to drink tea or alcohol as they may irritate your stomach.
