Anal lump pain

Anal lump pain

If you encounter a situation in your life where there is a hard lump in the anus and it is painful when pressed, it is likely caused by anal suppuration or gastrointestinal diseases. It may also be caused by hemorrhoids or rectal leiomyosarcoma. Therefore, you should check the cause of the pain when pressing the hard lump in the anus before you can treat the condition. Now let us understand the causes of hard lumps in the anus.

① Perianal abscess: There is a hard lump at the anus, which is extremely painful to touch. If it is not treated for a long time, the lump will gradually become larger and burst on its own. In addition to itching, there are sometimes symptoms such as redness, swelling, fever, heaviness, discomfort, and constipation. In severe cases, symptoms of systemic poisoning such as increased body temperature and loss of appetite may also be seen.

② Rectal prolapse: Rectal prolapse refers to a disease in which the anal canal, rectal mucosa or rectum, and part of the sigmoid colon shift downward and protrude out of the anus, commonly known as rectal prolapse.

③Hemorrhoids: Internal hemorrhoid prolapse, annular mixed hemorrhoids, external hemorrhoid thrombosis, etc. often cause lumps outside the anus when straining to defecate.

Rectal leiomyosarcoma: Rectal leiomyosarcoma is formed by the proliferation of abnormal smooth muscle cells and is mostly located in the lower rectum. Its growth pattern is often to bulge into the rectal cavity. If not treated surgically in time, it may turn from a leiomyoma into a leiomyosarcoma, that is, from a benign tumor to a malignant one, causing the rectum to narrow and leading to constipation, anal distension, and bloody stools.

⑤ Hemorrhoid incarceration: In addition, internal hemorrhoids can be seen protruding in the early stage, but they can be retracted automatically. As the disease continues to worsen, the time for the prolapse of the swelling becomes longer and longer, from automatically retracting to being dragged back by hand and then to incarceration. In the case of incarcerated hemorrhoids, a lump can be seen at the anus of the patient, which is very painful, accompanied by symptoms such as anal swelling and itching. If it is accidentally scratched, the patient will have continuous bleeding in the stool.

⑥ Rectal polyps: According to experts, a lump in the anus is a common symptom of anorectal disease, and perianal abscess can be given priority. However, since a lump in the anus is also a symptom of many diseases, to cure the anal lump, the cause must be identified first, and then the appropriate treatment method can be chosen.
