Is it good to have a fever and sweat?

Fever actually happens to everyone, but some friends have some misunderstandings about whether sweating due to fever is good or not. Sweating when you have a fever can actually speed up the dissipation of temperature, which is beneficial for treating fever, but you must wipe off the sweat in time to prevent the body from being invaded by cold again.

Generally speaking, if you sweat when you have a fever, the fever will go away. But be careful about the temperature of your head. It is best to apply a cold towel or ice pack to your forehead when you are sweating. Also, after sweating a lot, you should take a shower and change into clean clothes. Otherwise it will aggravate the condition. Also, if you sweat too much, you should drink more water, preferably warm water. Don't drink cold water.

How to reduce fever

1. Cold compress

Lie on your back and place a cold wet towel on your forehead, wrists and calves. Cover the rest of your body with a blanket. When the temperature of the towel reaches body temperature, replace it with a wet cold towel, and repeat this cycle until the fever subsides. You can also wrap ice cubes in a towel and apply it to your forehead. Using cold compress can help lower body temperature and has a good fever-reducing effect.

2. Stay hydrated

When you have a fever, your body sweats to dissipate heat, but when the fever is high, your body loses too much water and closes its sweat glands to prevent further water loss, which prevents your body from dissipating heat. Therefore, you need to replenish fluids, drink plenty of boiled water, or drink vegetable and fruit juice to promote body metabolism.

3. Foot bath

When you have a fever, you can soak your feet in boiling water at about 40 degrees. This can promote blood circulation, help reduce temperature, and relieve the discomfort caused by colds and fever. When you soak until you sweat slightly, the remaining heat in your body can be discharged from the body, achieving the effect of reducing fever.

4. Massage

There are many acupoints on the soles of the feet. Foot massage can dredge the meridians and promote metabolism. Then wiping and massaging the "Yongquan Point" on the soles of the feet and the "Dazhui Point" behind the neck with ginger slices can help reduce fever.

5. Get plenty of rest

If you have a fever, you should avoid fatigue and rest more. If you have chills, lie in bed, cover yourself with a quilt, and let your body sweat.

6. Adjust the indoor environment

The room should be kept moderately ventilated to help the body recover, but do not use ventilation equipment. Also, keep the light soft and listen to light music to make the patient feel more relaxed.
