Methods of confirming pregnancy

Methods of confirming pregnancy

There are many symptoms of pregnancy, such as amenorrhea or morning sickness, and we can check them out through early pregnancy tests and hcg tests. Generally, the symptoms of pregnancy can be detected 14 days after intercourse. We can use early pregnancy test strips to check, but we need to understand how to use the early pregnancy test strips. If the pregnancy is longer, B-ultrasound can be used to check the development of the fetus.

The fastest way to confirm pregnancy

One week after sexual intercourse, you can go to the hospital for a blood test for HCG to determine whether you are pregnant. After 14 days, you can use test strips to test morning urine to determine whether you are pregnant. Generally, test strips from regular manufacturers are more accurate. If you operate correctly according to the requirements of the test strips, the accuracy rate is above 98%. However, it will only be effective if you test 14 days after sexual intercourse. It is recommended that you do a pregnancy self-test two weeks after your period is late, so that the result will be more reliable. Generally speaking, the first urine excreted in the morning will produce the most accurate result.

1. Early pregnancy test paper; The working principle of using early pregnancy test paper for self-pregnancy testing is to detect the hCG value, that is, the value of human chorionic gonadotropin. This hormone is produced by the placenta and begins to be secreted when a fertilized egg implants. After secretion, it first appears in the blood and then appears in the urine through the circulatory system. However, due to the small amount, it is difficult to test it at the beginning. It only becomes increasingly obvious after 1-2.5 weeks of pregnancy. It is generally recommended to test the early pregnancy test strip 14 days after intercourse or one week after the menstruation is delayed, and the result will be more accurate. If the self-test result is negative and menstruation still has not occurred after one week, you should do the self-test again. Morning urine testing is more accurate for women who have just become pregnant. But for women who have been pregnant for some time, urine from any time of the day can be used for testing.

Master the correct use of early pregnancy test strips:

(1) Please read the instruction manual in full before testing and return the reagents and urine samples to room temperature (20℃-30℃) before use.

(2) Take out the test strip from the original aluminum foil bag and use it as soon as possible within 1 hour.

(3) Insert the test strip into the urine sample in the direction of the arrow. Note: The urine level must not exceed the mark on the test strip.

(4) After at least 5 seconds, take out the sample and place it flat on a clean, flat surface to observe the results.

(5) Wait for the purple-red strip to appear. The test result should be read after 3 minutes. It was deemed invalid after 10 minutes.

2. B-ultrasound: Under normal circumstances, pregnant mothers should have a B-ultrasound examination in the early stages of pregnancy (around 12 weeks of pregnancy). Pregnant mothers should avoid having B-ultrasounds too early or too many times. Doing an ultrasound too early may cause the fragile, newly formed embryo to be shaken, which is not conducive to embryonic development. B-ultrasound in early pregnancy is to confirm whether the pregnancy is ongoing and how many days the pregnancy has lasted, to provide a reliable basis for determining the expected date of delivery, and to promptly detect any abnormalities in embryonic development.

3. Blood pregnancy test: Blood pregnancy test is mainly diagnosed through blood HCG. The principle of blood test for pregnancy is mainly to determine whether pregnancy is present by quantitatively testing the level of human chorionic gonadotropin in the blood. Generally speaking, if a blood test is positive 10-14 days after having sex, the woman is pregnant. Otherwise, if the blood test is negative, the woman is not pregnant. A blood test for pregnancy requires an empty stomach and takes about two or three minutes. It may take a long time to wait for the test results, depending on the specific situation of the hospital, but it usually takes two hours.
