How to judge tattoo hyperplasia

How to judge tattoo hyperplasia

Tattoos are something that many people choose to do in order to express their individuality. Of course, there will generally be no problems during the tattoo process. However, if the tattoo recipient has a special physique, such as a scar-prone physique, or if the tattoo artist performs improper operations during the tattoo process, tattoo hyperplasia may occur. So, how do you determine if a tattoo is growing? This will be introduced below!

1. What is tattoo hyperplasia?

Three to five days after the tattoo, scabbing, peeling and itching will occur, but the scabs will fall off naturally. It is normal to have slight bumps during the healing period of your tattoo. If this phenomenon still occurs after recovery, and the area is large and the bulge is severe, it may be tattoo hyperplasia, which often occurs at the cut line. Moreover, once permanent hyperplasia is formed, it cannot disappear.

2. Two situations of tattoo hyperplasia

The first is color hyperplasia.

The proliferation of colored tattoos is caused by the tattoo artist applying too much force, resulting in excessive accumulation of pigment. The intuitive manifestation is that color can be seen in the entire proliferation area, but except for a slight protrusion, the other manifestations are no different from other areas.

The second is colorless proliferation. It is caused by the tattoo artist's repeated movements in one position, resulting in excessive skin damage. After recovery, the epidermis becomes thicker. The intuitive manifestation is that the color of the hyperplasia area is gray and not full.

Tattoo hyperplasia is no more harmful to health than colorless hyperplasia. It is caused by the tattoo artist's repeated movements in one position, resulting in excessive skin damage. After recovery, the epidermis becomes thicker. The intuitive manifestation is that the color of the hyperplasia area is gray and not full.

3. Causes of tattoo hyperplasia

Generally speaking, it is okay to have some micro-hyperplasia during the tattoo recovery period, and it will disappear once the recovery period is over. However, if more serious hyperplasia occurs, one reason is that the tattoo artist inserts the tattoo needle too deeply into the skin and injects too much pigment into the subcutaneous tissue. During the recovery process, the skin cannot completely absorb the pigment, causing part of the pigment to accumulate under the skin, forming a tattoo bulge. Since the pigment cannot be completely absorbed under the skin, the pigment in such a tattoo will slowly spread under the skin after a period of time, causing the pattern to be blurred. Second, the tattoo artist did not master the correct operating techniques, causing serious skin damage and skin tissue hyperplasia. Such tattoos usually appear as a raised outline of the design, but the color is very light.
