Stir-fried Atractylodes macrocephala and Poria cocos (30 grams), raw Astragalus membranaceus (18 grams), calcinated and pounded Dragon Bone (24 grams), calcinated and pounded Oyster sauce (24 grams), Cornus officinalis (24 grams) with the core removed, raw Paeonia lactiflora (12 grams), pounded Cuttlebone (12 grams), Rubia cordifolia (9 grams), brown charcoal (6 grams), Gallnut (1.5 grams), crush and grind, and swallow the juice (1.5 grams).

Effects

The function of Gu Chong Decoction is to strengthen the spleen, replenish blood, and consolidate the Chong meridian to retain blood.

Menstrual bleeding caused by spleen deficiency and dampness, and lack of nourishment to the Chong meridian. Menstrual bleeding or menorrhagia, light-colored and watery menstruation, shortness of breath, fatigue, dizziness, cold limbs, weakness in the limbs, pale tongue, and very weak pulse.

Solution

The syndrome of this prescription is caused by spleen deficiency and dampness, and malnutrition of Chong meridian. Chong is the sea of ​​blood point. The spleen is responsible for controlling and absorbing blood. Spleen deficiency and dampness make it unable to control blood, causing the Chong meridian to lose nourishment. Therefore, there will be heavy menstruation, or even metrorrhagia. Qi deficiency and excessive blood loss will lead to pale and thin blood, shortness of breath and fatigue, pale tongue, and very weak pulse, all of which are signs of deficiency of both Qi and blood and weak Qi. The treatment is aimed at strengthening the spleen and replenishing blood, consolidating the Chong meridians and retaining blood. Ju Rui attaches great importance to Atractylodes macrocephala, Poria cocos and Scutellaria baicalensis to replenish qi and blood, strengthen the spleen and stomach, and make the spleen strong and have the power to control the spleen, so as to consolidate the Chong and retain blood, and they are the main medicine. Cornus officinalis and red peony root have a slightly sweet taste and are sweet and sour in taste, which can nourish the kidneys, nourish yin and regulate blood, and are both ministerial medicines. Calcined dragon bone, calcined oyster, palm charcoal, cuttlebone, and gallnut are astringent and can activate blood circulation, while madder can remove blood stasis and activate blood circulation, so that bleeding can stop without leaving stasis, and they are all adjuvants. Chong is the blood sea point. If there is metrorrhagia, the Chong meridian will be depressed. This prescription has the function of strengthening the spleen and blood, and consolidating the Chong meridian and retaining blood, so it is named "Gu Chong".
