What causes whiteheads?

Vitiligo, also known as vitiligo, is a common disease in life. After the disease occurs, it will cause some plaque-like things to appear on the patient's skin to varying degrees. Although it does not hurt or itch, and there is no change in intelligence, it is very ugly, especially for people with dark skin color. The appearance of such white spots will look particularly scary. What exactly causes vitiligo?

Causes of vitiligo:

1. Genetic theory

Some studies suggest that the symptoms of vitiligo may be an autosomal dominant skin disease. Foreign authors have calculated that 30% of patients have a positive family history and found that both monozygotic twins developed the disease. Domestic reports on positive family history range from 3% to 12%, which is lower than those reported abroad.

2. Autoimmunity theory

The relationship between autoimmunity theory and the pathogenesis of vitiligo is gaining increasing attention. Many scholars have noticed that the incidence of comorbid autoimmune diseases in patients and their family members is relatively high, including thyroiditis, hyperthyroidism or hypothyroidism, diabetes, chronic adrenal insufficiency, pernicious anemia, rheumatoid arthritis, malignant melanoma, etc.

3. Mental and neurochemical theory

Many clinicians have found that mental factors are closely related to the onset of vitiligo. It is estimated that about 2/3 of patients suffer from mental trauma, excessive tension, depression or frustration at the onset or development of skin lesions.

4. Melanocyte destruction theory

The basic vitiligo is the partial or complete loss of function of epidermal melanocytes. This theory holds that vitiligo is caused by hyperfunction of epidermal melanocytes, which leads to their consumption and early decline, and may be due to the accumulation of toxic melanin precursors synthesized by the cells themselves.

5. Trace element deficiency theory

Some people have suggested that reduced copper levels in the body are related to the onset of vitiligo, but measurements of copper levels in serum and hair of patients do not seem to be significantly different from those in the general population, and the relevant trace element theory needs further study.

Bad habits that we don’t pay attention to may cause vitiligo. If we want to stay away from vitiligo, we must start with various small things in life.
