Tetanus is a very common vaccine injection, which will affect the health of the body. However, some people worry that there may be complications or infections after the tetanus injection. But in fact, this is not the case. The main function of tetanus is to deal with infection, so tetanus can disinfect and kill some latent problems. Tetanus has a high impact. Does tetanus affect children? Tetanus has basically no impact on children. The injection of tetanus antitoxin does not affect their health. For children, if they have already received the DTP triple vaccine, there is no need to inject tetanus antitoxin after the injury. The DTP vaccine contains tetanus toxoid, which can maintain a protection period of several years. There is no need to repeat the injection of tetanus antitoxin during the protection period. Tetanus vaccine is a very important vaccine, but there may be some adverse reactions after injection. Adverse reactions to tetanus vaccine include headache, fever, nausea, fatigue and muscle pain, but they usually disappear within a few days, and not everyone will experience them. Severe adverse reactions include convulsions and coma, but they are relatively rare. Once you have tetanus, it is irreversible, so it is necessary to inject tetanus antitoxin. Neonatal tetanus is an acute infectious disease caused by tetani bacteria in the umbilicus of newborns after birth. The clinical manifestations are characterized by trismus and muscle cramps throughout the body. Tetanus bacteria are widely present in the feces of humans and animals. This type of bacteria is highly resistant and ordinary disinfectants are ineffective against it. It requires high-pressure disinfection or iodine-containing disinfectants to kill it. If the umbilical cord is cut or tied using scissors or string contaminated with tetanus bacteria and not strictly sterilized during delivery, the bacteria can enter the blood through the navel and cause disease. If the navel is infected with tetanus bacteria, symptoms will appear in about 7 days, so it is commonly known as "seven-day wind". The earlier the symptoms appear, the more serious the condition and the higher the mortality rate. Generally, newborns start the disease by crying and being restless. The child wants to breastfeed, but his mouth cannot open wide, making it difficult for him to breastfeed. On the second day, the patient began to experience facial muscle twitching, with the corners of his mouth pulled outward and a bitter smile on his face. The muscles in his limbs became stiff and cramped. At this time, any stimulation such as sound, strong light, touching, feeding water, injections, etc. can induce convulsions in children. When the respiratory and laryngeal muscles spasm, the child may experience difficulty breathing, cyanosis, and suffocation. If the disease is not treated promptly and effectively, the child will suffer more and more cramps. Severe hypoxia can cause hypoxic necrosis of brain cells. Some children may die from hypoxia, suffocation, and secondary infection. The intelligence of survivors will be affected to a certain extent. Tetanus has a high mortality rate and is a serious illness. Therefore, we should strictly implement scientific delivery methods, and the midwife's hands and delivery equipment should be strictly disinfected to prevent the occurrence of neonatal tetanus. |
