Desensitization treatment of urticaria

Desensitization treatment of urticaria

Especially in spring, willow catkins on the trees are flying everywhere, and various flowers are blooming. These catkins and pollen can easily cause allergies in people, especially children, who are more prone to skin allergies, such as urticaria. The treatment of urticaria can often be done by desensitization therapy.

Because most urticaria is caused by allergies. For example, pollen, catkins, fish and shrimp mentioned above can cause urticaria. Since urticaria is caused by allergies, desensitization methods can be used to treat urticaria. Let’s talk about the therapeutic effects that desensitization treatment for urticaria can bring to patients.

Allergy test

Allergy tests should be conducted before desensitization treatment. Dilutions of common allergens can be used with allergen content of approximately 1:100 for the inhalation group and 1:10 for the ingestion group. After routine disinfection, 0.1 ml is injected intradermally on both forearms or backs of the patient according to the number, and 0.1 ml of physiological water is injected on the other side. Observe the results after 30 minutes and compare the two sides. Generally, a positive reaction is defined as a erythema diameter greater than 0.5 cm or with obvious infiltration, and the intensity is graded.

Desensitization therapy

After an allergy test, if a person has a positive reaction to more than one allergen, he or she can receive timely treatment, and the treatment is relatively convenient. If the patient undergoes desensitization treatment, the precautions should be explained to the patient in detail before the treatment, and a desensitization treatment instruction sheet should be given. For patients who have hospitals or clinics near their homes, they can take their medicines home on time for nearby treatment.

Desensitization method

For the first time, 0.1 ml of 1:106 allergen dilution is injected subcutaneously, twice a week, increasing by 0.1 ml each time. After 10 times, change to a higher concentration of dilution, and finally to 1:10. This concentration is the general maintenance solution. Start with 2 times/week and gradually decrease to once a month. Finally, stop treatment and observe. Use antihistamines at the beginning of treatment to enhance the therapeutic effect.

When urticaria occurs, the patient may develop wheals, rashes, and itching on the skin. If severe, it can also cause skin ulcers. For the treatment of urticaria, you can use the urticaria desensitization treatment we introduced to you. This treatment method is effective and will not recur after recovery.
