Erythrodermic psoriasis is a very common type of psoriasis. Everyone should know that psoriasis is a common skin disease. Up to 75% of patients will show symptoms, which is very serious. If not treated promptly and the condition is not controlled in time, a large area of skin will show symptoms. However, we do not know much about erythrodermic psoriasis and rarely see such patients around us. The occurrence of erythrodermic psoriasis is due to the untimely and unscientific treatment of psoriasis and the use of a large amount of hormones during the treatment. The symptoms of erythrodermic psoriasis will cause great pain to the patient, accompanied by fever and severe itching. Once you have this disease, you must seek timely treatment. It is rare to initially present with erythrodermic psoriasis, which is usually caused by the sudden discontinuation of glucocorticoids or other types of immunosuppressants. It is also common as a secondary symptom caused by improper external treatment, excessive stimulation or infection and fever. Generalized pustular psoriasis can easily turn into this type. In addition, erythrodermic psoriasis can also be caused by upper respiratory tract infections, severe insomnia or mood swings, sun exposure, etc. The symptoms of erythrodermic psoriasis are exfoliative dermatitis, with skin flushing at the original site of skin lesions, which then gradually expands and has mild edema or infiltration. The skin is mostly dry, and a few may have moist crusts, accompanied by severe itching. At this time, psoriasis characteristics such as silvery scales and punctate hemorrhages often disappear, and when the skin lesions are relieved, a large amount of desquamation may occur. The scales on the head and face are thicker and greasy due to excessive sebum or secondary infection, and the palms and soles often peel off in large areas. Before or during an attack, there is often a fever, which can be as high as 40 degrees, which is proportional to the severity of the skin lesions. In addition, there may be lymphadenopathy, joint pain, muscle pain, and in severe cases, Staphylococcus aureus bacteremia, multiple osteomyelitis, endocarditis, and pneumonia, accompanied by an increase in peripheral blood myocytes, decreased albumin levels, electrolyte disturbances, and occasionally abnormal liver and kidney function. As a large area of defensive skin is damaged, water loss through the epidermis increases, leading to dehydration. Acute cases usually take 1 to 2 months to improve, but there are also cases where the symptoms do not heal or recur for several months. During this period, you need to pay attention to the patient's mood and do not use medication indiscriminately, otherwise it will aggravate the condition, or temporarily relieve it and then worsen after stopping the medication or reducing the dosage. Through the above introduction, we know that erythrodermic psoriasis is a very serious skin disease. Once it occurs, the most important thing is to be able to treat it in the early stage. Daily care is also very important. Do not eat some high-calorie foods, do not drink alcohol or smoke, and do not worry too much in your heart. Relaxation and an optimistic and positive attitude are conducive to recovery. |
