How to treat chronic glomerulonephritis

How to treat chronic glomerulonephritis

Chronic glomerulonephritis is the most common type of disease, and how to better treat it has always been a topic of concern to people. Glomerulonephritis is a glomerular disease manifested by different pathological morphologies. The disease can cause harm to the patient's body. According to the clinical manifestations of chronic glomerulonephritis, it can be divided into five types: common type, nephrotic massive proteinuria, hypertensive type, mixed type, and acute onset.

If you suffer from chronic glomerulonephritis, you should do urine tests and renal function tests in time to ensure the rapid changes of chronic glomerulonephritis and achieve early detection and early treatment. So, how should chronic glomerulonephritis be treated? Here are some methods, I hope they can help you.

1. Actively control high blood pressure

Prevent renal function decline or improve already damaged renal function, prevent cardiovascular complications, and improve long-term prognosis.

2. Reduce urine protein

Delay the decline of renal function. Proteinuria is closely related to the decline of renal function and should be strictly controlled. ACEI and ARB have the effect of reducing urinary protein, and their dosage often needs to be higher than the dosage required for lowering blood pressure. However, the occurrence of hypotension should be prevented.

3. Limit the intake of protein and phosphorus in food

A low-protein and low-phosphorus diet can reduce glomerular hypertension, hyperperfusion and hyperfiltration, and delay glomerular sclerosis. Patients with renal insufficiency and azotemia should limit their intake of protein and phosphorus, adopt a high-quality low-protein diet, or add essential amino acids or α-keto acids.

4. Avoid factors that aggravate kidney damage

Infection, hypovolemia, dehydration, fatigue, water-electrolyte and acid-base imbalance, pregnancy and the use of nephrotoxic drugs (such as aminoglycoside antibiotics, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, contrast agents, etc.) may damage the kidneys and should be avoided or used with caution.

Friends who suffer from chronic glomerulonephritis must actively cooperate with the doctor's treatment and strive to recover as soon as possible. In life, in order to prevent the occurrence of more diseases, you must always exercise and eat more foods with high nutritional value to protect your body, stay away from diseases completely, and be a healthy, confident and successful person.
