What causes high triglycerides?

High triglycerides refer to high levels of fatty acids in the blood.

Triglycerides are an important indicator in blood lipid examination. Severe high triglycerides are often related to diabetes, liver disease, chronic nephritis, etc., and are generally secondary diseases.

The ATPII report divides triglyceride levels into four levels: normal level, below 2.3 mmol/L; borderline high level, 2.3-4.5 mmol/L; high level, 4.5-11.3 mmol/L; and extremely high level, over 11.3 mmol/L. Patients with borderline high and high triglyceride levels often have lipid disorders that increase the risk of coronary heart disease, such as familial combined hyperlipidemia and diabetic dyslipidemia. Patients with triglyceride levels exceeding 11.3 mmol/L have a significantly increased risk of acute pancreatitis.

Through the above introduction, we have a good understanding of what high triglycerides are. Therefore, when such a problem occurs, it must be treated in time. High triglycerides are very harmful to human health, and there are many reasons for this problem, so the treatment must be comprehensive.
