What causes dizziness?

Many people think that dizziness is a minor problem. They will feel dizzy when they are hungry, before and after menstruation, or when they stand up after squatting for a long time. Generally speaking, occasional dizziness or dizziness due to changes in body position is mostly caused by orthostatic hypotension and should be fine after rest. However, if dizziness occurs for a long time, it should be taken seriously, because long-term or frequent dizziness may be a precursor to a serious illness.

Dizziness is a complex disease. Hypertension, diabetes, and cardiovascular disease can all cause dizziness. For the dizziness symptoms caused by these diseases, the primary disease should be actively treated to minimize the chance of complications. Dizziness is one of the clinical manifestations of many diseases. Common causes of dizziness include:

One is nervous system diseases : such as cerebral ischemia, cerebellar diseases, brain diseases, brain trauma, certain types of epilepsy, etc. In addition, patients with autonomic dysfunction and certain neuroses often feel dizzy.

The second is ear disease : such as ear disease that affects balance and causes dizziness.

The third is internal medicine diseases: such as hypertension, hypotension, various cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, anemia, infection, poisoning, hypoglycemia, etc.

Fourth, cold: Sometimes a cold may be accompanied by symptoms of dizziness.

Fifth, cervical vertebra degeneration: Due to long-term poor posture or sleeping position, the cervical vertebrae will grow, deform, and degenerate, the neck muscles will tighten, and the arterial blood supply will be blocked, resulting in insufficient blood supply to the brain, which is the main cause of dizziness. The neck is often tight, flexibility is limited, and there is occasional pain, coldness, and a feeling of heaviness.

Sixth, anemia: If you experience dizziness accompanied by fatigue and pale complexion, the possibility of anemia should be considered. Under healthy conditions, the amount and quality of hematopoietic tissue in the elderly have declined, and the aging of red blood cells themselves makes their utilization of iron much lower than before. Therefore, if the elderly do not pay attention to nutritional health, they are likely to suffer from anemia. In addition, patients with indigestion, peptic ulcer, gastrointestinal bleeding and chronic inflammatory diseases may all develop anemia.

Seventh, high blood viscosity : hyperlipidemia, thrombocytosis, etc. can increase blood viscosity and slow blood flow, causing insufficient blood supply to the brain, and easily causing symptoms such as fatigue, dizziness, and weakness. There are many reasons for hyperlipidemia, the most important of which is the unreasonable dietary structure. Patients eat a lot of high-fat and cholesterol foods and do not like to exercise. Currently, the incidence of this type of disease is on the rise.

Eight is the early stages of heart disease and coronary heart disease, when the symptoms are still mild. Some people may not have obvious discomfort such as chest tightness, palpitations, shortness of breath, etc. They may only feel headache, dizziness, weakness in the limbs, difficulty concentrating, tinnitus, or forgetfulness. The main reason for dizziness at this time is atherosclerosis of the coronary arteries of the heart, which causes the lumen to become thinner and narrower, resulting in ischemia and hypoxia of the heart. Insufficient blood supply to the heart can cause insufficient blood supply and lead to dizziness.

According to clinical statistics, the proportion of patients suffering from headaches caused by insomnia is about 65%. For this type of patients, the best medical option is to use drugs with good effects and few side effects. In addition, more attention should be paid to diet. Patients with cardiovascular diseases should eat a light diet and pay attention to health preservation.
