Wrist Ganglion Cyst:

A ganglion cyst of the wrist is a type of swelling, which refers to a benign mass containing jelly-like mucus that occurs near the joint capsule or tendon sheath. It is mostly unilocular but can also be multilocular. Ganglion cysts are not cancerous and will not spread, and although they may increase in size, they will not spread to other parts of the body. The symptoms of wrist ganglion cyst are obvious. There will be slight soreness in the affected area. When the cyst fluid increases, it will become hard and tender. If the affected area is in the wrist, it will be accompanied by wrist weakness, discomfort or soreness, radiating pain, and in severe cases, it will cause certain functional impairment to the patient.

The cause of the disease is unknown. It is mainly believed to be related to local malnutrition, degenerative myxoid degeneration or local chronic strain of the connective tissue on the joint capsule, ligament and tendon sheath. The main clinical manifestations are hemispherical lumps ranging in size from wrist bean to thumb on the dorsum of the wrist, palm of the wrist, elbow or dorsum of the foot. The lumps are hard, elastic, have a fixed base and are tender to the touch.

Through the above introduction, we have a good understanding of wrist ganglion cysts and when treating such diseases. Medication is the best choice. At the same time, some rehabilitation treatments are very helpful in alleviating the patient's condition. This approach is a good and safe choice.
