Many people don’t know how to cure mouth ulcers. When treating this type of disease, the correct method must be chosen, which will be of great help in stabilizing the patient’s disease and improving it.

How to treat mouth ulcers:

1. Local treatment

The main purpose is to reduce inflammation, relieve pain and promote ulcer healing. There are many treatment methods, which are selected according to the condition:

1. Gargle

0.25% chlortetracycline solution, 1:5000 chlorhexidine chlorhexidine solution, 1:5000 potassium permanganate solution, 1:5000 furacilin solution, etc.

2. Lozenges

Dumiphene lozenges, lysozyme lozenges, chlorhexidine lozenges.

3. Powder

Bingpeng Powder, Xilei Powder, Qingdai Powder, Yangyin Shengji Powder, etc. are the main medicines for treating oral ulcers in Traditional Chinese Medicine. In addition, sprinkling compound betamethasone also has anti-inflammatory, analgesic and ulcer healing effects.

4.Medicinal film

Its matrix contains drugs such as antibiotics and cortisone. When applied on ulcers, it can relieve pain, protect the ulcer surface and promote healing.

5. Analgesics

There are 0.5% to 1% procaine solution, 0.5% to 1% dyclonine solution, and 0.5% to 1% dicaine solution. Apply them on the ulcer surface for 2 consecutive times to temporarily relieve pain before eating.

6. Cauterization

It is suitable for patients with a small number of ulcers, small area and long intervals between ulcers. The method is to first use 2% dicaine for surface anesthesia, then isolate the moisture, wipe the ulcer surface dry, use a small cotton ball smaller than the ulcer surface to dip in 10% silver nitrate solution or 50% trinitroacetic acid tincture or iodine phenol solution, and place it on the ulcer surface until the surface turns white. These drugs can precipitate proteins on the ulcer surface to form a thin film to protect the ulcer surface and promote healing.

7. Partial closure

Suitable for severe recurrent aphthous ulcers. Add 1 ml of 1% procaine solution to 0.5-1 ml of 2.5% prednisolone acetate suspension and inject it into the tissue below the ulcer, 1-2 times a week, for a total of 2-4 times. It accelerates the healing of ulcers.

8. Laser therapy

Irradiation with helium-neon laser can activate the mucosal regeneration process, reduce the inflammatory response and promote healing.

2. Systemic treatment

1. Immunosuppressants

If it can be confirmed as an autoimmune disease through examination, the use of immunosuppressants will have obvious therapeutic effects. The commonly used drug is prednisone. To prevent the infection from spreading, antibiotics should be added. For severe Behcet's syndrome, hydrocortisone or dexamethasone and tetracycline are given. It should be contraindicated or used with caution in patients with gastric ulcers, diabetes, and active pulmonary tuberculosis.

2. Immunomodulators and enhancers

(1) Levamisole is used for patients who need to enhance cellular immunity.

(2) Immunoglobulin G is suitable for people with impaired humoral immunity. Not suitable for long-term use.

(3) Transfer factor is suitable for people with reduced or defective cellular immune function.

(4) Vitamins Vitamin drugs can maintain normal metabolic function and promote the healing of lesions. When an ulcer occurs, give 0.1-0.2g of vitamin C, 3 times a day, and 1 tablet of vitamin B complex, 3 times a day.

(5) Female hormones: Women whose diseases are related to the menstrual cycle should use estrogen and diethylstilbestrol with caution.

(6) Patients with low serum zinc levels may experience improvement after zinc supplementation. 1% zinc sulfate syrup or zinc sulfate tablets may be used.

Through the above introduction, we have a good understanding of how to treat mouth ulcers. Therefore, we also need a good method to treat it. However, it should be noted that it takes some time to treat this type of disease. During this treatment period, the diet should be arranged reasonably.
