Speaking of urticaria, it used to be a scary disease. Because we know that diseases like measles are contagious. In the past, if urticaria was not treated well, it could be fatal. But fortunately, with the development of medicine today, we have very advanced medical technology to solve this problem. I believe that many people do not know what urticaria is, nor do they know what symptoms urticaria has in the human body. Urticaria has symptoms like rash on the human body, with many red rashes, edema, and abnormal itching. There are two types of urticaria, acute and chronic. Let’s take a look at the symptoms of these two types. 1. Acute urticaria accounts for about 1/3 of all urticaria. (1) The onset is acute, and skin lesions often occur suddenly. They are localized red wheals of varying sizes with clear boundaries and different shapes, which may be round, quasi-round, or irregular. They start out isolated and scattered, then gradually increase in number and size as you scratch them, merging into irregular, map-like or ring-like shapes. If serum exudes rapidly in the microvessels and compresses the wall of the microvessels, the wheal may appear pale with a red halo around it, and the skin may become uneven and appear like orange peel. (2) Most skin lesions last for half an hour to several hours and then disappear naturally without leaving any traces. However, new wheals will occur one after another and continue to occur. They may recur multiple times within a day. (3) Conscious severe itching and burning sensation. (4) The location of the disease is uncertain and may be widespread throughout the body or confined to a certain part. Sometimes the mucosa may also be affected, such as affecting the gastrointestinal tract, causing mucosal edema, and symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, and diarrhea. When the laryngeal mucosa is invaded, there will be chest tightness, wheezing, and difficulty breathing. In severe cases, it may cause laryngeal edema and suffocation, which is life-threatening. If accompanied by systemic symptoms such as high fever, chills, and rapid pulse, you should be particularly alert to the possibility of serious infection such as sepsis. (5) Skin scratches may be positive. 2. Chronic urticaria accounts for about 2/3 of urticaria. Wheals occur repeatedly, sometimes more and sometimes less, often not healed for years, and can last for more than 2 months. The symptoms may be mild or severe during the course of the disease, such as being aggravated in the morning or before going to bed. Sometimes there is no definite pattern. The systemic symptoms are generally mild, and the cause cannot be found in most patients. What is urticaria? Now you should have a clearer understanding of urticaria. If you find that your skin has inexplicably developed some of the above symptoms, don't just buy some ointments and ignore them. Doing so is very dangerous. If it is a serious disease, doing so will delay the treatment. |
