What are the traditional Chinese medicines for liver health?

The liver is the most important organ in the human body and is responsible for detoxifying the body. However, because it cannot be seen or touched, many people do not take good care of their livers, especially men, who smoke and drink as their lives. They do not realize that they are playing with their lives. Smoking and drinking actually harm the liver in the end. Therefore, the number of hepatitis patients is increasing every year. So how to nourish and protect the liver? Today, I will introduce to you 8 kinds of traditional Chinese medicines that nourish and protect the liver.

1. Creepingwort: It has the effect of clearing heat, detoxifying and diuresis. It has a good enzyme-lowering effect on patients with acute and chronic hepatitis. Its enzyme-lowering effect is fast and large in amplitude, but there is also rebound.

2. Salvia miltiorrhiza: Studies have shown that Salvia miltiorrhiza can inhibit and reduce liver cell degeneration, necrosis and inflammatory response in acute and chronic liver damage, accelerate the reabsorption of fibrous tissue, and has the effects of anti-liver fibrosis, improving liver blood circulation, and preventing cirrhosis.

3. Panax notoginseng: Experiments have shown that long-term administration of small doses of Panax notoginseng can improve liver microcirculation, promote liver tissue repair, regeneration and anti-liver fibrosis.

4. Astragalus: Astragalus has antioxidant and liver cell membrane stabilizing effects, can promote bilirubin metabolism, reduce liver cell necrosis, and promote liver cell regeneration. The clinical use of Astragalus to treat icteric hepatitis has achieved satisfactory results.

5. Cordyceps sinensis: It can reduce inflammatory cell infiltration and hepatocyte degeneration and necrosis in the liver. It can also inhibit the deposition of type I and II collagen in the liver, causing the formed collagen to be reabsorbed and dissolved, thus having an anti-liver fibrosis effect.

6. Schisandra chinensis: It can reduce the increase of SGPT caused by liver damage. It can also reduce the high SGPT of hepatitis patients and alleviate the metabolic disorders of toxic liver damage. It has the effects of slightly increasing liver glycogen, alleviating liver cell degeneration, reducing the damage of toxic pathogenic factors to liver cell mitochondria and lysosomes, and promoting protein synthesis in liver cells.

7. Licorice: Licorice can reduce liver cell degeneration and necrosis, reduce serum transaminase activity, increase the glycogen and DNA content in liver cells, promote liver cell regeneration, and have an inhibitory effect on hepatitis virus.

8. Alpinia scabra: The alpinia scabra glycosides it contains have obvious enzyme lowering (ALT) and enzyme-lytic effects. Its enzyme-lowering effect is rapid and lasting, and ALT can be reduced to normal after 2 to 4 weeks of medication.
