Red spots on the body

Red spots on the body

For people with hepatitis B, if red spots appear on the body, it is a typical symptom of hepatitis B, clinically known as spider nevus. Hepatitis B patients need to be reminded that if spider nevi appear on your body, it means that your disease may have worsened. At this time, please pay attention to timely treatment of hepatitis B to avoid worsening of the disease.

If you want to solve the problem of red spots on your body, hepatitis B patients must first treat the disease so that the spider nevi can disappear. For hepatitis B patients who have not yet developed spider nevi, you must pay attention to preventing the appearance of spider nevi to avoid the possibility of worsening hepatitis B.

Spider nevi often appear on the face, neck, hands, chest, arms, back, etc. They look like a spider, with a small red dot in the center and many fine red threads radiating around it. The entire diameter is about 0.2 to 2 cm. In a few people, they may also occur in the mouth, lips, ears and other parts of the body. If you press the small red dot in the center of a spider nevus, the entire spider nevus can disappear, but the number of spider nevi that appear varies from person to person.

Spider nevi are caused by damaged liver function in hepatitis B patients, which leads to decreased inactivation of estrogen. Spider nevi are common in patients with hepatitis B and cirrhosis. The appearance of spider nevi often indicates a worsening of the disease.

At the same time, experts remind that normal hepatitis B liver function does not mean that the liver is not damaged. Many people with hepatitis B who have already developed cirrhosis have normal liver function. Especially patients who have been infected with hepatitis B for many years should be most vigilant about the occurrence of cirrhosis. Symptoms such as spider nevi, palms of the hands, discomfort in the liver area, dull pain, insomnia, fatigue, loss of appetite, nausea and vomiting, aversion to oily urine, abdominal distension and diarrhea, sallow complexion, fever, yellow eyes, yellow urine, and yellow skin are all signs of worsening hepatitis B and you should go to the hospital for examination and diagnosis as soon as possible.

Now that you know that the red spots on your body are spider nevi caused by hepatitis B, if you do not have hepatitis B but still have red spots on your body, it is recommended that you first do a liver function test to see if there are any liver symptoms. Alternatively, the red spots on your body may be caused by allergies. If this is the case, it will be easier to solve.
