Symptoms of allergic rhinitis

When we know that we may have symptoms of allergic rhinitis, the occurrence of this disease is caused by inflammation of the nasal mucosa and submucosal tissue. The symptoms of typical allergic rhinitis mainly include some paroxysmal sneezing, or some clear nasal discharge, as well as nasal congestion and itching. Sometimes there is even a loss of sense of smell.

The symptoms of allergic rhinitis are relatively obvious. When the disease occurs, allergic rhinitis itself develops quickly and recovers quickly. Sometimes we don’t even need to take medicine to cure our disease. When acute rhinitis occurs, the disease gradually develops. At first, the patient feels dry nose, followed by nasal congestion, or clear runny nose, which later turns into sticky and purulent runny nose and subsides slowly.

When allergic rhinitis occurs, the nose becomes extremely itchy and the patient sneezes continuously, several times at a time or dozens of times in a row. It is often accompanied by itching of the throat, eyes and ears, but systemic symptoms are mild. The systemic symptoms of acute rhinitis are severe, usually accompanied by chills, fever, headache, general fatigue, loss of appetite, etc. The throat is not itchy but dry or sore, the eyes are not itchy, but have a sour feeling, and often tearful.

Examination: The nasal mucosa of allergic rhinitis is pale, or darker light pink, and edematous; the nasal mucosa of acute rhinitis is bright red and swollen. Examination of nasal secretions shows an increase in eosinophils or mast cells in allergic rhinitis, while acute rhinitis shows a large number of neutrophils. If an allergy skin test is performed, allergic rhinitis will be a positive reaction, while acute rhinitis will be a negative reaction. In addition, allergic rhinitis is not contagious, but acute rhinitis is contagious.

We need to understand that although the symptoms of this type of allergic rhinitis are relatively serious, it is not contagious. For example, acute rhinitis is contagious. When we have allergic rhinitis, we are advised not to be careless. You must understand your physical illness in time to cure the stubborn disease.
