Contact dermatitis

People who are frequently exposed to chemicals are prone to a skin disease called contact dermatitis. Moreover, even if the symptoms of contact dermatitis are eliminated in time after the disease appears, the contact dermatitis will recur as long as the patient comes into contact with irritating substances again. This is why patients are troubled by contact dermatitis because it recurs repeatedly.

If contact dermatitis occurs, it will not only cause symptoms of small papules on the skin, but the patient will also feel extremely itchy at the affected area, especially at night, when the itching is even worse and the patient cannot fall asleep at all.

1. Blood deficiency and wind dryness cause repeated attacks, with thickened and dry skin lesions, scaling or lichenification, severe itching, scratches and scabs; the tongue is pale red with a thin coating and a stringy and fine pulse. Syndrome differentiation and analysis: Heat, toxicity and dampness have been lingering for a long time, so the disease recurs repeatedly; the yin blood is damaged over time, blood deficiency causes wind, and the skin is malnourished, resulting in thickened, dry, scaly, or lichenified skin lesions, severe itching, scratches and scabs; the pale red tongue, thin coating, and thready pulse are signs of blood deficiency and wind dryness.

Treatment method: Clear away heat and dispel wind, nourish blood and moisten dryness.

2. Heat, toxicity and dampness accumulation have an acute onset of skin lesions with bright red swelling and blisters or bullae on them. When the blisters break, they become eroded and exudate, and the patient feels burning and itching; accompanied by fever, thirst, hard stools and yellow and red urine; red tongue with slightly yellow fur and a stringy, slippery and rapid pulse.

Syndrome differentiation and analysis: due to intolerance of constitution, heat, toxicity and dampness accumulate in the skin, so the onset is sudden, the skin lesions are bright red and swollen, with blisters or bullae on them. After the blisters break, they become eroded and exudate, and the patient feels burning and itching. When heat, toxicity and dampness are excessive inside the body, the patient will have fever, constipation, and short and yellow urine. Heat burning body fluids will cause dryness of mouth. Red tongue, slightly yellow fur, and stringy, slippery and rapid pulse are signs of accumulation of heat, toxicity and dampness.

The most important thing about TCM treatment of contact dermatitis is to regulate the human body, thereby preventing the recurrence of contact dermatitis. However, for patients with contact dermatitis, in addition to paying attention to treatment, they should also pay attention to disease care, such as not scratching when the disease occurs, not scalding the affected area with hot water, etc.
