Foreign object in throat

Foreign object in throat

The throat is a common respiratory organ, and it is also prone to some diseases, mainly causing some respiratory infections and some common foreign body sensations in the throat. At the same time, foreign bodies in the throat can be divided into two possibilities: physiological and pathological. Physiological ones are fish bones or food stuck in the throat, and pathological ones are diseases of the throat itself, or some common respiratory diseases that lead to the feeling of foreign body in the throat, such as a cold.

The feeling of foreign body in the throat is mainly caused by common inflammation in the throat or food stuck in the throat, so it is necessary to treat and diagnose it in time. The feeling of foreign body in the throat may also be complicated by other types of respiratory diseases, so timely treatment is a better method.

Sometimes when swallowing pills, you may not have mastered the trick, and the medicine sticks to the wall of the esophagus, and you can neither spit it out nor swallow it. At this time, just drink plenty of boiled water, and the pill will slowly melt, or be directly carried down by the force of the water.

Sometimes when eating fish, large bones are easier to remove, but some small bones may be mixed into the fish meat and accidentally swallowed, ending up stuck in the throat. It is best not to cough hard at this time, because it is very likely that the thorn did not damage the throat originally, but the airflow from coughing caused it to pierce the esophagus. You should take a big mouthful of rice or steamed bun, don't chew it, and swallow it directly. This will most likely suppress the thorn.

Sometimes if you eat too quickly, the food may not enter the esophagus but enter the airway. At this time, there is a very effective method called "Heimerich technique". The operation is also very simple. The helper stands behind the patient, places his right fist under the patient's xiphoid process (basically above the stomach, there is a pointed bone on the midline), holds his right hand with his left hand, and quickly presses the patient's chest and abdomen upward and inward several times. The purpose is to generate airflow to eject the foreign object stuck in the throat.

The above are common treatments for foreign body sensation in the throat. At the same time, many patients with foreign body in the throat must receive timely treatment in their daily lives. The development of children's throats is not very complete, and it will also have certain effects. If you find some foreign objects in the child's throat in life, you must treat and diagnose it in time, and do not feed some hard foods in life.
