Can gout patients eat sesame seeds?

Everyone should know about gout. The incidence of this disease is very high now, and the incidence rate of men is much higher than that of women. The most important thing for people with gout is to pay attention to some principles in their daily diet. They should not eat foods with high purine, such as animal liver, clams, fish, shrimp, and peas. They should eat more foods with less purine. So, can gout patients eat sesame seeds?

Gout patients should all know that they should eat more foods low in purine, such as bread, milk, cucumbers, eggs, and various fresh vegetables, in order to prevent the onset of the disease. So can gout patients eat sesame seeds? Many people want to know.

Avoid foods high in purine: Foods high in purine include animal offal, fish, shrimp, clams, beef, mutton, and peas. Gout patients should try to eat less or no purine. Gout patients should eat more foods with low purine content, such as milk, eggs, bread, cucumbers, tomatoes, etc., to reduce the entry of exogenous purine into the body and lower blood uric acid levels. Here is also a recipe for gout treatment: (1) Imperata root drink: 10 grams each of fresh bamboo leaves and Imperata root. Wash the fresh bamboo leaves and Imperata root, put them in a thermos cup, brew with boiling water for 30 minutes, and drink as tea. It is diuretic and prevents

1. Dietary considerations for gout patients

Gout patients should eat more low-purine foods, less medium-purine foods, no high-purine foods, and be careful not to drink alcohol. Low-purine foods: whole grains, eggs, milk, fruits, and vegetables; medium-purine foods: meat, beans, and seafood; high-purine foods: bean sprouts, bean sprouts, asparagus, mushrooms, seaweed, animal offal, and fish. Gout is often complicated by obesity, diabetes, hypertension and hyperlipidemia. Patients should follow the following dietary principles:

1. Maintain an ideal weight. If you are overweight or obese, you should lose weight. However, weight loss should be gradual, otherwise it may easily lead to ketosis or acute gout attacks.

2. Carbohydrates can promote the excretion of uric acid. Patients can eat rice, steamed buns, pasta, etc. that are rich in carbohydrates.

3. Protein can be consumed in proportion to body weight. 0.8 to 1 gram of protein should be consumed for every 1 kilogram of body weight, and milk and eggs should be the main sources. If it is lean meat, chicken, duck, etc., it should be boiled and then eaten without soup. Avoid eating stewed or braised meat.

4. Eat less fat, because fat can reduce the excretion of uric acid. For patients with gout and hyperlipidemia, fat intake should be controlled within 20% to 25% of total calories.

5. Drink plenty of water. You should drink 2000ml to 3000ml of water every day to promote the excretion of uric acid.

6. Eat less salt, which should be limited to 2 to 5 grams per day.

7. Avoid drinking! Alcohol can easily cause lactic acid to accumulate in the body, inhibit the excretion of uric acid, and easily induce gout.

8. Use less strong seasonings or spices.

9. Limit purine intake. Purine is a component in the cell nucleus. Any food that contains cells contains purine, and animal foods contain more purine. Patients are forbidden to eat offal, bone marrow, seafood, fermented food, beans, etc.

10. It is not advisable to use drugs that inhibit the excretion of uric acid.

A high-purine diet can increase the synthesis of uric acid and raise the blood uric acid concentration. Conversely, a low-purine diet can reduce the blood uric acid concentration. After controlling the diet, the blood uric acid level of normal people can be reduced by about 35.7ηmol/L (0.6mg/dl), and that of gout patients can be reduced by about 59.5μmol/L (1.0mg/dl). There are several plausible explanations for how dietary factors affect blood uric acid levels, including:

1. Excessive drinking can cause gout, especially beer. The possible mechanisms by which ethanol affects blood uric acid levels are:

(1) Drinking alcohol and eating foods rich in purine;

(2) Ethanol metabolism can increase blood lactate concentration, and lactate can inhibit the excretion of uric acid by the kidneys;

(3) Excessive drinking causes ketosis, which inhibits the kidneys from excreting uric acid;

(4) Ethanol can promote the conversion of adenine nucleotides and increase uric acid;

(5) Some people believe that drinking leaded liquor such as whiskey increases the risk of gout by three times.

2. Reducing food intake is also related to gout attacks because plasma acetoacetate and β-hydroxybutyrate levels increase during hunger, affecting the excretion of uric acid by the kidneys.

3. There are some misunderstandings about the relationship between soy products and gout. According to tests by Chinese and Japanese scholars, the purine content of most beans is not very high. Based on this, it can be concluded that the purine content of soy products is even lower, thus overturning the misunderstanding among the people or traditional Chinese medicine that gout patients should avoid eating soy products. Another indirect evidence is that monks who often eat soy products rarely suffer from gout. Therefore, soy products can be consumed in small amounts.

Can gout patients eat sesame seeds? Don't worry too much after suffering from gout. You should eat a reasonable diet, have a good mood, and do more aerobic exercises, such as Tai Chi. In our current life, many diseases are related to the usual unscientific diet. Therefore, once you suffer from any disease, you must be able to adjust it well through diet.
