Can Artemisia capillaris lower blood pressure?

Modern life is becoming more and more affluent, but people's health problems are increasing day by day. Some diseases such as coronary heart disease, hypertension, hypotension, gout, obesity, etc. are interfering with people's normal lives. The occurrence of these diseases is not only closely related to the lack of exercise in people's daily lives, but also closely related to people's unreasonable daily diet structure.

In today's society, hypertension has become an incurable disease that troubles many people. There is a view that it can only be controlled but not eradicated. As a result, people are desperately looking for foods and medicines that can lower blood pressure. Can Artemisia capillaris lower blood pressure?

Can Artemisia Capillaris lower blood pressure? The answer is yes.

Artemisia capillaris is a plant of the Asteraceae family and the genus Artemisia. Harvest the seedlings in early spring, remove old stems and impurities and dry them in the sun. The seedlings are mostly curled into balls, gray-green in color, and covered with dense white hairs, soft like velvet. The stem is small, the leaves are pinnately divided 1 to 3 times, the lobes are linear, ovate or oblanceolate, and the margins are entire. It has a unique aroma and a slightly bitter taste. It is mainly produced in Jiangxi, Jiangsu, Anhui, Hubei, Zhejiang, Shaanxi, Hebei, Shandong, etc.

Both the water extract and refined extract of Artemisia capillaris have antihypertensive effects. Intravenous injection and intraduodenal administration of 6,7-dimethoxycoumarin show antihypertensive effects on rats, cats, rabbits, and dogs. Its antihypertensive effect may be caused by central and visceral vasodilation. It significantly increased the coronary flow of isolated ventricular fibrillation rabbit hearts and restored their rhythmic contraction. Electrocardiograms of cats and rabbits were observed. Transient atrioventricular block and intraventricular block may occur.

From the above, it can be seen that Artemisia capillaris has the effect of lowering blood pressure. In fact, Artemisia capillaris not only has the effect of lowering blood pressure, but also has the effects of promoting bile secretion, relieving fever and lowering blood lipids. Since Artemisia Capillaris has so many functions, some special groups in life should increase their consumption of it in daily life, such as people with high blood pressure, cholecystitis, high blood lipids, etc.
