Sulfur ointment is a yellow ointment with a distinctive sulfur odor. It has a killing effect on scabies, bacteria, and fungi, and can remove oil, soften the epidermis, and dissolve keratin. Its mechanism of action is that after sulfur comes into contact with skin and tissue secretions, it produces hydrogen sulfide and pentathionic acid. Sulfur ointment is mainly made by mixing sulfur and vaseline. Traditional Chinese medicine believes that sulfur can be used externally to detoxify, kill insects and treat sores, and taken internally to replenish fire, promote yang and promote bowel movements. It is slightly toxic, so it should not be used for a long time.

Sulfur ointment is used for scabies, pubic lice, acne, seborrheic dermatitis, rosacea, pityriasis simplex and chronic eczema, neurodermatitis, psoriasis, tinea capitis, tinea corporis, and tinea manuum and pedis. Using it in combination with other acne treatments, desquamation drugs, cleansers, retinoic acid, and other alcohol-containing preparations can increase skin irritation and cause skin dryness.

Sulfur ointment is often used to treat the skin disease scabies. Sulfur ointment is used to treat scabies. The correct drug selection and the appropriate method of use are effective. The routine local treatment of scabies (taking 10% sulfur ointment or cream as an example):

1. In order to give full play to the effect of external medicine, you should take a hot bath before applying the medicine. It is forbidden to take a bath without changing clothes during the medication period;

2. Apply the topical medication once in the morning and evening every day. For adults, apply it all over the body from the neck down. Apply it several times on the prone areas. A course of treatment is 5 days.

3. Take another hot bath after the treatment, and then change into clean clothes, bed sheets and quilts. The replaced items must be boiled in water or soaked in medicine for disinfection. They can also be washed, dried, put in a plastic bag and left for half a month before use;

4. After treatment, the disease should be observed for 2 weeks to see if it recurs. If it recurs, a course of treatment should be repeated;

Precautions when using sulfur ointment: 1. Avoid contact with eyes and other mucous membranes (such as mouth, nose, etc.). 2. If there is a burning sensation, redness or swelling at the medication site, stop taking the medication and wash off the local medication. Consult a physician if necessary. 3. Avoid long-term and large-area use. 4. Children, pregnant women and lactating women should use it under the guidance of a physician. 5. People who are allergic to this product are forbidden to use it, and those with allergic constitution should use it with caution.
