Precautions for chronic bronchitis

Precautions for chronic bronchitis

In daily life, some of us have weak constitutions and are prone to catching colds and fevers. However, there is a symptom that is very similar to a cold, and we often mistake it for a cold. That symptom is chronic bronchitis. In the early stages of chronic bronchitis, people often cough and the symptoms are relatively mild. However, as time goes by, the symptoms will become more and more severe and may lead to pulmonary hypertension, etc. Therefore, if you have had a cold for more than a week and still haven't recovered, it is best to go to a large hospital for a check-up and take preventive measures in advance. So what should you pay attention to for chronic bronchitis?

(1) Quit smoking: Patients with chronic bronchitis should not only quit smoking first, but also avoid passive smoking, because chemical substances in smoke, such as tar, nicotine, and hydrogen cyanide, can act on the autonomic nerves, causing bronchial spasms, thereby increasing respiratory resistance; in addition, they can also damage the bronchial mucosal epithelial cells and their cilia, increase bronchial mucosal secretions, reduce the purification function of the lungs, and easily cause pathogens to multiply in the lungs and bronchi, leading to the occurrence of chronic bronchitis.

(2) Keep warm. In colder weather, patients should keep warm and avoid catching cold, because cold can reduce the bronchial defense function on the one hand, and reflexively cause bronchial smooth muscle contraction, mucosal blood circulation disorders, and obstruction of secretion discharge on the other hand, which may lead to secondary infection.

(3) Strengthen exercise: Patients with chronic bronchitis should do appropriate physical exercise during the remission period to improve the body's immune ability and the reserve capacity of the heart and lungs.

(4) Prevent colds: Pay attention to personal protection to prevent colds. If conditions permit, do cold-resistance exercises to prevent colds.

(5) Take good care of the environment: avoid the effects of smoke, dust and irritating gases on the respiratory tract to avoid inducing chronic bronchitis.

There are many things to pay attention to when dealing with chronic bronchitis. For example, you must refrain from smoking and also pay attention to strengthening your physical exercise. The treatment of disease is a long process, so we must strengthen our body and enhance our immunity.
