Can color blindness be treated?

Color blindness refers to congenital color vision disorder, which is the inability to distinguish various colors in the natural spectrum. It is different from color weakness. Color weakness refers to the poor ability to distinguish colors, while color blindness is a color vision disorder. Color blindness can be treated through certain methods, but current medical conditions cannot completely eradicate it. After all, color blindness is congenital and there are very few acquired causes.

Can color blindness be treated?

1. Acupoints and acupressure

Acupressure is placed 2 cm below the center of the eyeball to improve eye function. When doing acupressure, press firmly with your index finger for 6 seconds while exhaling. You can do acupressure with your eyes open or closed.

When acupressure is performed with eyes open, the color can be clearly judged; when acupressure is performed with eyes closed, abnormal vision and pseudomyopia can be treated. If you suffer from strong color abnormalities, you should focus on pressing under your eyes. Continuing this acupressure will gradually eliminate color vision abnormalities.

2. Color blindness correction glasses

The principle of color blindness correction glasses is to apply a special coating on the lenses based on complementary color antagonism to produce a cut-off wavelength effect, which can transmit long wavelengths and reflect short wavelengths. Wearing color blind glasses can make it possible for people who were previously unable to recognize color pictures to be recognized correctly. Achieve the effect of correcting color vision impairment. Color blindness correction glasses are divided into contact lens type and ordinary wide frame type.

Is color blindness hereditary? Is there any way to prevent color blindness from being inherited?

Nowadays, some people's eyes are not so sensitive in distinguishing colors, which is called color blindness in medicine. So will color blindness be passed on to the next generation? I believe that many color blind patients are very concerned about this issue.

With a pair of normal eyes and a healthy sense of light and vision, one can fully feel and respond to the bright colors of nature. However, some children have normal appearance but suffer from color vision disorders. The clinical classification of color vision impairment mainly includes two categories. One is the low ability to recognize colors, which is medically called color weakness; the other is the complete inability to recognize colors, which is medically called color blindness.

Modern medicine believes that Huddart first reported the Harris family as having color-blind members in 1777, and one year later, Lort's report first introduced female color blindness. However, the person who gave the most detailed account of color blindness was the British chemist Dalton in 1798. Because color blindness was the first to be discussed in detail by Dalton, it was once called Dalton's disease in the West.

my country has a long history of records of similar color blindness. As early as the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period, "Kangcangzi Quandao Pian" named this disease "blindness", saying: "Those with blindness mistake yellow for red and blue for blue." This is a true description of color vision abnormalities.
