The dangers of long-term constipation

The dangers of long-term constipation

I remember when I first went to the county town to attend high school, there was a new environment and new faces around me. Everything was new and unfamiliar. Many of my classmates were leaving home for the first time to go to school in the city. This also led to some problems and a lot of discomfort. Many of my classmates got sick. However, a very common and serious problem is constipation, and the harm of long-term constipation is also very terrible.

Constipation is a symptom of many diseases, not a disease itself. What we usually call constipation is chronic functional constipation, which is characterized by dry stools, difficulty in defecation, and long-term non-healing. Constipation causes patients to suffer from long-term abdominal distension and pain, and they are afraid to eat a full meal and unable to sleep at night. It is conceivable that the harm of long-term constipation cannot be ignored.

The dangers of long-term constipation

1. Cause hemorrhoids and anal fissures

Long-term constipation and excessive force during defecation can cause the anal mucosa to bulge outward, resulting in poor venous return and eventually forming hemorrhoids. If feces scratches the anal canal, forming ulcers and wounds, anal fissures will form.

2. Damage to liver function

When feces accumulates in the intestines for a long time, toxic substances are reabsorbed into the liver, which increases the burden on the liver as a detoxification organ. If this continues for a long time, it will damage the liver function.

3. Formation of abdominal hernia,

When constipation occurs, the intra-abdominal pressure suddenly increases due to excessive force during defecation, and abdominal organs such as the small intestine protrude to the body surface through weak points in the abdominal wall, which may form an abdominal hernia.

4. Killing beauty

The toxins produced by stool retention are absorbed by the intestines and reach various parts of the human body through blood circulation, causing dull complexion, rough skin, brown spots, acne, obesity, etc.

5. Aggravate cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases

For elderly patients with constipation and cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, excessive force during defecation will increase blood pressure and oxygen consumption of the body, which can easily induce cerebral hemorrhage, angina pectoris, myocardial infarction, and even endanger life.

Through the above introduction, we should have a deeper understanding of the harm of long-term constipation. I hope that we can pay attention to our physical fitness at any time in the future. If we feel uncomfortable, we must cooperate with the doctor's treatment in time and do a good job of prevention, especially when we just arrive in a new environment.
