The throat is the most deadly part of our human body and it is also the main channel for food to pass through. When people eat fried and spicy foods, they often feel pain in the neck when swallowing. This is a symptom of throat inflammation. Throat inflammation is a relatively mild disease. Here I will introduce a more serious throat disease to you, that is, laryngeal nerve damage. 1. Unilateral recurrent laryngeal nerve injury (1) Non-surgical treatment: acupuncture, large amounts of vitamins (vitamin B1 and B12) and physical therapy. The second is voice therapy. In most patients, hoarseness gradually improves due to compensation by the healthy vocal cord. Domestic literature analyzed 1,000 cases of thyroid surgery, among which 20 cases with unilateral recurrent laryngeal nerve injury received non-surgical treatment. Follow-up results showed that hoarseness was significantly improved. (2) Surgical treatment: ① Neurolysis and anastomosis: Nerve severance is relatively rare. Most cases are caused by hemostatic ligation or postoperative hematoma, wound infection, tissue edema compression or scar traction. In recent years, a group of researchers performed exploration on 6 cases of unilateral recurrent laryngeal nerve injury. The exploration time was 2 days to 2 months after the operation, and it was found that the nerve was severed in 2 cases and the nerve was pulled by scar of the thyroid remnant in 4 cases. Therefore, end-to-end anastomosis and removal of the sutures in the thyroid remnant were performed to release the nerves. Six cases were followed up after surgery, and the vocal cord movement on the affected side basically returned to normal and the voice was good. Therefore, it is believed that once unilateral recurrent laryngeal nerve injury occurs after thyroid surgery, it is necessary to strive for early exploration, perform neurolysis (loosening scars, removing sutures), and perform end-to-end anastomosis of the severed nerve. The damaged nerve can generally recover its function. ② Treatment by intra-vocal injection of polytetrafluoroethylene suspension: Intra-vocal injection of polytetrafluoroethylene is an optional method. If the movement of the affected vocal cord has not recovered after conservative treatment and exploration for 6 months in patients with unilateral recurrent laryngeal nerve injury, and there is no compensation in the healthy vocal cord, polytetrafluoroethylene can be injected into the affected vocal cord to move the vocal cord inward, which can improve voice production. Now rarely used. ③ In recent years, thyroid cartilage plasty: Type I has been used at home and abroad to treat unilateral vocal cord paralysis and achieve good vocal effects, which has application prospects. The throat is a relatively fragile part of our body, so we need to take good care of it. Having a sweet voice is also closely related to the health of the throat. It is recommended that you do not speak loudly, eat less spicy and other irritating foods, eat more fresh vegetables and fruits, and eat more foods that are good for the throat. |
