How to treat cervical artery insufficiency

How to treat cervical artery insufficiency

For middle-aged and elderly people, the aging of their organs can cause a variety of diseases. Whether it is cardiovascular and cerebrovascular disease or insufficient blood supply to the cervical arteries, they are all possible causes of fatal death. Therefore, how to prevent, control and effectively treat them is our focus. Today we will look at the treatment of arterial insufficiency.

The clinical symptoms of this disease are diverse and complex, and sometimes difficult to diagnose. The patient's medical history and symptoms should be carefully inquired, and a comprehensive examination of cardiovascular function, nervous system, otolaryngology, audiology, vestibular function, etc. should be conducted. In addition, cervical spine imaging examination, transcranial Doppler ultrasound examination, head CT or MRI examination, etc. should be performed, and vertebral artery angiography can further clarify the diagnosis.

Different treatment measures are used according to different causes. Atherosclerosis can be treated with platelet aggregation inhibitors (such as enteric-coated aspirin), vasodilators (dextran), cerebral vasodilators and albumin photon therapy. People with cervical bone hyperplasia can undergo cervical traction.

Specific treatment measures:

1. Prevent platelet aggregation and reduce blood viscosity: use antiplatelet drugs, such as aspirin 75-150 mg/day, or Ticlid 250 mg/day.

2. Dilate cerebral blood vessels and increase cerebral blood flow:

During the acute attack period, 0.4g of Xuesetong 5% glucose or 250ml of 0.9% saline solution can be given by intravenous drip once a day; Vincalutong, puerarin, and Breviscapine can also be used for intravenous drip.

Sibelium 5 mg orally once a day; Lemai granules for oral treatment, etc.

3. Improve brain cell metabolism: 8g of Naofukang and 250ml of 5% glucose by intravenous drip, 10 times a day for one course of treatment.

4. If vertigo is obvious, you can add - Betadine: it can increase cerebral blood flow, improve inner ear microcirculation, inhibit platelet aggregation, and has a good effect on vertigo. 4-8 mg, orally 3 times a day; Vertigo Stop: can increase the blood flow of the vertebral basilar artery, regulate the vestibular system, and treat vertigo caused by various reasons; 25 mg 3 times a day.

Generally speaking, Western medicine preparations are suitable for treatment in the acute phase, and Chinese medicine can be added for prevention and treatment in the recovery phase, such as puerarin, breviscapine, Lemai granules, etc., which are all Chinese medicine preparations.

Surgery

Vascular intervention, vertebral artery reconstruction or angioplasty may be performed to improve blood flow.

Precautions

1. Reduce the amount of activity before going to bed.

2. Drink a cup of hot milk before going to bed and avoid drinking coffee, strong tea, etc.

3. Listen to light music and read entertaining materials.

4. Rub your feet with hot water, take a hot bath, and massage your back.

5. Instruct patients to use relaxation techniques, such as deep breathing and whole body muscle relaxation.

6. If your condition permits, increase your physical activity during the day appropriately.

7. Try to reduce the number and duration of daytime sleep.

No matter which treatment plan we choose, we should be cautious and make our own decisions. After all, life is precious. We only have this one chance in this world, and once you lose it, you can never get it back. Whether it is ourselves or our relatives and friends, we should warn them in time to prevent and treat this disease. Health and happiness are the most important.
