Is clarithromycin extended-release tablets effective in treating mycoplasma?

Have you heard of clarithromycin extended-release tablets? This clarithromycin sustained-release tablet is an effective drug for treating mycoplasma infections. Mycoplasma is a trace amount of cells in our body, but it does play a very important role and significance to our body. So when we are infected with mycoplasma, we must seek timely treatment. Is clarithromycin sustained-release tablets effective in treating mycoplasma? Let’s find out below.

Mycoplasmas are the smallest microorganisms that live outside cells. It is a type of prokaryotic cell-type microorganism that lacks a cell wall. Its size is generally between 0.3-0.5um and it is highly polymorphic, with various forms such as spherical, rod-shaped, filamentous, and branched. It is different from cells and different from viruses. There are many types and wide distribution, and the harm caused is considerable, involving many fields such as humans, animals, plants and insects, bringing adverse effects on human health and scientific research. Among the 16 mycoplasmas isolated from the human body, 5 are pathogenic to humans, namely Mycoplasma pneumoniae, Ureaplasma urealyticum, Mycoplasma hominis, Mycoplasma genitalium and Mycoplasma fermentans. The genus Ureaplasma includes Mycoplasma urealyticum, Mycoplasma urealyticum and Mycoplasma hominis, which are pathogenic to humans. Mycoplasma pneumoniae is a major cause of respiratory tract infection and pneumonia. Ureaplasma urealyticum and Mycoplasma hominis cause urogenital tract infections.

Mycoplasma, also known as Mycoplasma hominis, is a simple prokaryotic organism. Mycoplasmas are between the size of bacteria and viruses. So, can clarithromycin extended-release tablets treat mycoplasma?

Clarithromycin sustained-release tablets are indicated for infections caused by microorganisms that are sensitive to clarithromycin: 1. Lower respiratory tract infections: such as bronchitis, pneumonia, etc.; 2. Upper respiratory tract infections: such as pharyngitis, sinusitis, etc.; 3. Mild to moderate infections of the skin and soft tissues: such as folliculitis, cellulitis, erysipelas, etc.

Clarithromycin extended-release tablets can treat mycoplasma. The main ingredient of clarithromycin extended-release tablets is clarithromycin, which is a semi-synthetic macrolide antibiotic. Clarithromycin can bind to the bacterial ribosome 50S subunit, thereby inhibiting its protein synthesis and producing an antibacterial effect. In vitro, it has good antibacterial activity against standard strains and clinical isolates, and has good antibacterial effects against a variety of aerobic and anaerobic Gram-positive or Gram-negative bacteria.

Clarithromycin is a macrolide antibiotic. Its antibacterial effect is similar to that of erythromycin. Clarithromycin can inhibit Legionella pneumophila and Mycoplasma hominis, kill Helicobacter pylori, and is effective against Mycobacterium, Staphylococcus aureus, Ureaplasma urealyticum, Chlamydia pneumoniae, Mycobacterium avium, etc. So clarithromycin can kill mycoplasma in the body, but it is a second-line antibiotic and is generally only used when first-line drugs are ineffective. Second-line drugs generally have larger side effects and are somewhat toxic to the human liver and kidneys.

Clarithromycin sustained-release tablets are very effective in treating mycoplasma. After the above introduction, we know that the effect of clarithromycin sustained-release tablets is quite large. If we are diagnosed with mycoplasma infection, we must use clarithromycin sustained-release tablets for treatment in time. Only in this way can my body be healthier and not be troubled by the disease.
