[Composition] Half a catty (24g) of Bupleurum; three liang (9g) of Scutellaria baicalensis; three liang (9g) of Ginseng; three liang (6g) of roasted Licorice; half a liter (9g) of washed Pinellia ternata; three liang (9g) of sliced ​​ginger; twelve (4) pieces of split jujube.

[Usage] Take the above seven ingredients, add 1 dou 2 liters of water, boil and take out 6 liters, remove the dregs, boil again and take out 3 liters, take 1 liter while warm, three times a day.

[Effects] Harmonizes Shaoyang, harmonizes the stomach and reduces adverse effects, strengthens the body and eliminates evil.

[Main Indications]

1) Shaoyang disease syndrome. The evil is half superficial and half interior, with symptoms including alternating chills and fever, fullness and pain in the chest and flanks, silence and loss of appetite, irritability and nausea, bitter taste in the mouth, dry throat, dizziness, thin white tongue coating, and a stringy pulse.

2) Women with typhoid fever have heat entering the blood chamber. The menstruation stops, and there are occasional attacks of chills and fever; or there are internal injuries and miscellaneous diseases such as malaria, jaundice, etc., and the above Shaoyang disease symptoms are present.

That is to say: Zheng Chaihu is mostly used for colds, while Xiao Chaihu is now mostly used to soothe the liver and stomach and stop vomiting.
