How to tell your health status from your nails?

How to tell your health status from your nails?

The four diagnostic methods of traditional Chinese medicine, namely, observation, auscultation, inquiry and palpation, can tell whether a person is healthy just by looking at his or her appearance. In the diagnostic method of "looking", one can not only diagnose illness by looking at a person's face, tongue, and palms, but also know whether the person is healthy and what disease he has by looking at the color and shape of his nails. So, how can we judge whether a person is healthy by looking at his nails?

1. Identify colors

1. White nails

Generally, people who are malnourished and poor are more likely to have pale nails. If the nails suddenly turn white, it is often an emergency such as blood loss, shock, or a chronic disease such as gastrointestinal bleeding.

2. Purple nails

Blue nails indicate a severe cold, while blue-black nails indicate a serious condition. Common in patients with hypoxia and congestion. Insufficient blood supply and hypoxia, arteriosclerosis, high blood lipids and high cholesterol.

3. Dark yellow nails

If the nails are dark yellow, it may be a precursor to liver and gallbladder disease or other chronic diseases, and further examination is needed to confirm the diagnosis;

2. Identify spots

1. Red Spotted Nail

Red spots under the nails indicate capillary bleeding, which may be caused by high blood pressure, skin diseases, heart infection or the presence of some underlying serious illness.

2. White spots

White spots often appear on children's nails, which are often caused by gastrointestinal stagnation, indigestion, worm accumulation or calcium deficiency. They may be worm spots, indicating that there are worms in the body. If white spots appear on the nails of adults, it is a sign of malnutrition, which is often seen in liver metabolism or damage, especially in patients with chronic hepatitis B. Habitual constipation can cause long-term gastrointestinal disorders and also cause white spots to appear.

3. Black spots

The appearance of black spots indicates that blood circulation is impaired, which may be caused by tumors or gangrene. It is recommended to go to the hospital for further examination and treatment.

When a person's nail color changes, you can judge what disease the person has based on the color change. When spots appear on the nails, it also indicates that there is a problem with the body and should be paid attention to. In addition to these, the appearance of vertical lines on the nails, the reduction of the half-moons, etc., also indicate the presence of disease in the human body.
