The so-called dampness is considered the root of all evil in traditional Chinese medicine. If a person eats too much meat, the food is contaminated, and he exercises very little, it will lead to excessive yin and deficient yang in the body, and blood loss will easily invade the body, causing abnormal bowel movements, weak spleen and stomach, and incomplete body metabolism. When the body is invaded by moisture, you must actively regulate it. You can use moxibustion to remove moisture from the body. Traditional Chinese medicine believes that moxibustion has the effects of relieving depression, removing dampness, and replenishing yang energy, and is particularly suitable for health preservation. Regular moxibustion on the corresponding acupoints can eliminate dampness in the body and prevent various diseases. According to traditional Chinese medicine, when the body's vital energy is insufficient and its resistance is reduced, dampness will become a pathogenic factor and invade the body to cause disease. Dampness is usually divided into external dampness and internal dampness. No matter which type of dampness it is, it will cause people to have symptoms of decreased digestive function such as loss of appetite, abdominal fullness, bloating, etc., accompanied by a series of symptoms such as mental depression, drowsiness, physical fatigue, and unwillingness to drink water. Moxibustion on the following five acupoints can have a good effect in removing dampness. Guanyuan acupoint is located 3 inches below the navel and is an important acupoint for health preservation and strengthening the body. Long-term moxibustion has the effects of regulating qi and blood, nourishing the kidneys and consolidating essence. Use moxa sticks for 10 to 15 minutes or moxibustion in a moxa cup for 20 to 30 minutes. Zhongwan point is located on the midline of the abdomen, 4 inches above the navel. Moxibustion with moxa sticks for 10 to 15 minutes or moxibustion with moxa cups for 20 to 30 minutes can effectively relieve various symptoms of stomach diseases. Fenglong point is located on the anterior and lateral side of the lower leg, 8 inches above the tip of the lateral malleolus and two horizontal fingers (middle finger) outside the anterior edge of the tibia. This is a good acupuncture point for removing dampness. Moxibustion with moxa sticks for 15 minutes every day can effectively strengthen the spleen and eliminate dampness. The Jiexi point is located in the central depression of the transverse line at the junction of the dorsum of the foot and the calf. This acupoint is used to eliminate phlegm and dampness throughout the body. It is very effective in relieving edema of the lower limbs. Moxibustion for 15 minutes daily. Some people don’t understand what dampness is. Let me briefly explain. If we feel like something is wrapped around our head when we wake up in the morning, making us lack energy and always wanting to stay in bed, it means that the dampness in our body is already quite heavy and we should consider regulating it through moxibustion. If the stool is unformed for a long time, it also means that there is serious dampness in the body and it should be actively adjusted. |
