Common psychiatric diseases

Common psychiatric diseases

Mental illness is actually not uncommon in our lives. Mental illness and mental illness are very troublesome because they are difficult to treat and cannot be recovered by surgery or medication. They require gradual adjustment and long-term recovery to achieve a complete recovery. Nowadays, many obsessive-compulsive disorders, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia and depression are all mental and psychological problems.

Common mental illnesses

Mental illness is mainly divided into mild mental illness and severe mental illness. Common mild mental illnesses include obsessive-compulsive disorder, depression, etc. Common severe mental illnesses include schizophrenia.

Mild mental illness is mainly manifested in emotional disorders such as anxiety and depression, and thinking disorders such as obsessive-compulsive thoughts, but the patient's cognitive thinking, logical reasoning ability and self-awareness are basically intact.

Patients with severe mental illnesses such as schizophrenia in the early stages may also experience anxiety and obsessive-compulsive disorder, but their cognitive and logical reasoning abilities will become very poor, and their self-awareness will be almost completely lost. Organic mental illness or toxic mental illness caused by brain lesions needs to be distinguished from general functional mental illness. Mild mental illnesses include anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, depression, phobia, etc. Severe mental illnesses include schizophrenia.

When the body is affected by internal and external harmful factors and the brain function is disturbed, various mental illnesses will occur. When the entire mental activity is obviously abnormal or disordered and the integrity and unity of the mental activity are destroyed, it manifests as a mental illness. If it is mainly the mental activity ability that is weakened without serious and lasting mental activity disorder, it manifests as a neurosis. If the development of mental activity is blocked, it manifests as mental retardation.

Diagnosis Introduction

Mental illness

Currently, doctors mainly use the method of "listening to what they say and observing what they do" to diagnose mental illness. Doctors observe patients' behaviors and communicate with them to understand their inner thoughts and thus judge their thinking, cognitive abilities, self-awareness, etc., and then judge their condition.

In addition, doctors sometimes ask patients to undergo biochemical tests or X-rays, MRIs, etc., which can help to determine the patient's condition by examining certain biochemical indicators in the patient's blood and brain imaging. Traditional Chinese medicine has been documenting mental illness for more than 2,000 years.

In the book Huangdi Neijing, the normal mental activities of the human body are attributed to the heart. It is said that "the heart is the monarch of the body and the spirit comes out from it." The heart not only controls the mental activities of the host but also governs the internal organs of the human body. It is said that "the heart is the great master of the internal organs and the place where the spirit resides."

"<Suwen·Yangming Pulse Interpretation> discusses the symptoms of Yangming madness" "When the disease is severe, the patient will throw away his clothes and run, climb high places and sing, or even not eat for several days. He will climb walls and roofs, and go places he is not able to climb... He will talk nonsense and curse at rocks, and sing without distinguishing between relatives..." and "Suwen·Jue Lun" discusses "Yangming Jue causes epilepsy, desire to run, shouting, abdominal distension, inability to lie, red face and fever, delusional vision and nonsense. "All of them are the observation records of a mentally ill patient infected with poison. And "Lingshu.Jingmai" says "The patient shivers with chills, groans, shrivels, and has a black face. When the patient comes, he hates people and fire. He hears the sound of wood and is frightened. He stays alone with the door closed. "Similar to modern psychiatric symptoms of persecution delusions and hallucinations.

As a branch of clinical medicine, psychiatry mainly studies the causes, pathogenesis, clinical characteristics, development patterns, treatment and prevention of various mental illnesses. Since the 1950s, with the development of social economy and science, the great achievements of molecular biology have led to rapid development of basic medicine, especially neurophysiology, neurobiochemistry, neuroimmunology, psychopharmacology and medical genetics.

At the same time, as the impact of social environment and social psychological factors on mental illness and behavioral problems is paid attention to, it will promote theoretical research and medical practice on the nature of mental illness and expand the research scope of this discipline.
