Isotretinoin skin capsules are suitable for more severe nodular acne, and their therapeutic effect is still good, but this drug has more obvious adverse reactions, so it is generally not necessary to consider it in routine treatment. However, if severe skin acne symptoms occur, you can consider using such drugs for treatment, but you must be cautious when using it. Pregnant women cannot use it because it can easily cause serious birth defects. It is indicated for the treatment of severe refractory nodular acne (nodular acne, i.e., inflammatory lesions with a diameter of ≥5 rmn, nodules that may be purulent or bleeding). Because isotretinoin has significant adverse reactions, it should only be considered when other conventional treatments (including systemic antibiotic treatment) are ineffective. In addition, because isotretinoin may cause serious birth defects, it is only suitable for female patients who are not prepared or unable to become pregnant. Warning: This product can cause birth defects, do not get pregnant! Isotretinoin should not be used in women who are pregnant or may become pregnant. If a pregnancy occurs while taking any dose of isotretinoin, even for a short time, there is a very high risk of severe birth defects. Taking this drug during pregnancy may affect fetal development, and there is no definite method to determine whether a fetus exposed to isotretinoin is affected. Confirmed birth defects after taking isotretinoin include: malformations of the face, eyes, ears, skull, and abnormal development of the central nervous system, cardiovascular system, thymus, and parathyroid glands. IQ scores below 85 have been reported with or without other abnormalities. An increased risk of spontaneous abortion and premature birth has been reported. Confirmed external defects include: skull deformities; ear deformities (such as aphonia, microtia, small or absent external auditory canal); eye deformities (such as microphthalmia); facial deformities; and cleft palate. Confirmed internal defects include: abnormal development of the central nervous system (such as brain malformation, cerebellar malformation, brain edema, microcephaly, cranial nerve deficiency); cardiovascular developmental abnormalities; thymic developmental abnormalities; parathyroid developmental abnormalities. Developmental abnormalities were also confirmed in advance in some deaths. Therefore, women of childbearing age and their spouses should strictly practice contraception within three months before and after taking the medicine and during the medication period. If a female patient becomes pregnant while taking the drug, the drug should be discontinued immediately and further evaluation and consultation should be conducted by an obstetrician and gynecologist experienced in reproductive toxicity. Special prescription required. Due to the teratogenicity of isotretinoin, in order to minimize the risk of fetal exposure, isotretinoin can only be prescribed by a specialist physician with a practicing medical qualification and extensive experience in medication. |
