What are the common symptoms of acute nephritis?

Due to the serious pollution of drinking water and other reasons, more and more people are dealing with kidney disease. Nephritis has brought great trouble to people. So what are the symptoms of acute nephritis?

Symptoms of urinary tract irritation: Pyelonephritis is mostly caused by ascending infection, so it is often accompanied by cystitis. Patients experience urinary tract irritation symptoms such as frequent urination, urgency, and pain when urinating. The urine is turbid and there is occasional hematuria.

Systemic symptoms: fatigue, loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, or abdominal pain, increased neutrophil count in the blood, which can easily be misdiagnosed as acute abdomen such as acute cholecystitis or acute appendicitis.

Local signs: pain in one or both kidney areas, percussion pain and tenderness in the costal area. It often presents an explosive process and may cause sepsis. This type of sepsis is called urosepsis by some people. It is prone to endotoxin shock, the condition is serious, and it is more common in the elderly.

Neurological symptoms: mainly headache, nausea, vomiting, insomnia, and dull thinking; in severe cases, there may be visual impairment, or even blackouts, coma, convulsions, etc., which are mostly related to high blood pressure and water and sodium retention.

Other manifestations: Acute renal papillary necrosis may occur. In addition to severe systemic symptoms of sepsis-like hematuria and pyuria, patients sometimes suffer from ureteral colic due to the shedding of necrotic papillae. Some patients also experience oliguria or urinary retention and acute renal failure.
