Patients with facial paralysis should pay attention to three points in their diet

Patients with facial paralysis should pay attention to three points in their diet

If patients with facial paralysis can do relevant conditioning work in their daily diet, their condition can be effectively cured. So, what are the dietary precautions for patients with facial paralysis?

Pay attention to calcium supplementation

Calcium is not only beneficial to bones and intelligence, but also promotes normal muscle and nerve function. Patients with facial nerve diseases mainly suffer from facial nerve conduction disorders which lead to muscle atrophy, so calcium supplementation is very important. Spare ribs, dark green vegetables, egg yolks, kelp, sesame, fruits, carrots, watermelon, dairy products, etc. are all rich in calcium.

Avoid eating spicy food

Patients with facial paralysis must avoid eating spicy and irritating foods, such as onions, garlic, onions, mustard, five-spice powder, curry powder, etc. These foods can stimulate the facial nerve up to the head, strengthen nerve impulses, and thus induce pain. Patients must also abstain from alcohol. Excessive alcohol consumption can easily lead to vitamin B deficiency and become a cause of neuritis, especially white wine, which has a high alcohol content. Therefore, patients with facial paralysis must control their drinking.

Eat more fresh vegetables

Patients with facial paralysis should eat more fresh vegetables and coarse grains, such as beans, soy products, pumpkin, corn, onion, lean meat, hawthorn, kelp, jujube, bitter gourd, loofah, winter melon, cucumber, melon, banana, mulberry, etc. Appropriately increasing the intake of vitamin B is very helpful for patients with facial paralysis.
