Breast pain is quite common in life. There are many reasons for it. The most common ones are during lactation, pregnancy, and menstruation. Breast pain is a normal physiological phenomenon. Of course, we should also be alert to some disease causes, such as breast hyperplasia or mastitis. We should pay attention to this aspect. Why is my breast a little painful? 1. Breast hyperplasia The pain intensity of breast hyperplasia changes regularly with the menstrual cycle: it gets worse before menstruation and gets better after menstruation. Other symptoms include breast lumps, and the size of the lumps may change cyclically with menstruation. The lumps of breast hyperplasia are distributed in flakes, blocks or granules, of different sizes, with good mobility and no adhesion to surrounding tissues. In contrast, malignant breast tumors often show progressive growth, unclear boundaries, poor mobility, and obvious adhesion to surrounding tissues. 2. Mastitis Mastitis is common after childbirth, and is especially likely to occur during the postpartum period. Severe breast pain, accompanied by breast redness, swelling, obvious tenderness, fever and other inflammatory symptoms. 3. Breast pain after artificial abortion After an abortion, some women complain of breast tenderness and a palpable lump. This is because the pregnancy is suddenly interrupted, and the hormone levels in the body drop sharply, causing the newly developed mammary glands to suddenly stop growing, resulting in breast lumps and breast pain. 4. Breast pain after sex This is related to the physiological changes in the breasts during sexual intercourse. People with low libido or disharmonious sex life cannot achieve sexual satisfaction, so breast congestion and swelling are not easy to subside, or they subside incompletely. Continuous congestion will cause breast pain. Therefore, women should attach importance to a good sex life, and those who have no orgasm or low sexual desire should seek medical attention. The sensation of the breast is controlled by the intercostal nerves and the 3rd and 4th cervical nerves. Once these nerves are invaded, it will cause pain, so breast pain is not a specific symptom of a certain disease. Early breast cancer rarely causes pain unless it is locally advanced or inflammatory breast cancer. Breast pain often comes from benign, non-tumorous breast diseases. It can be said that breast pain is not proportional to the benign or malignant nature of breast disease and the severity of the disease. It should be noted that breast lumps that are not accompanied by breast pain should be treated with greater caution. |
