What are the clinical manifestations and causes of male scrotal eczema?

Scrotal eczema is the most common skin disease of the scrotum, which is called "scrotal wind" or "hydrangea wind" in traditional Chinese medicine. This disease is an allergic reaction and is also a common skin disease of the male genitals, not a sexually transmitted disease. So what are the symptoms of scrotal eczema?

The main symptoms of scrotal eczema are:

The early symptoms of scrotal eczema are slightly raised red spots with clear edges, which gradually expand and become scaly and itchy, and gradually turn from red to purple, brown or skin color. If scrotal eczema is not treated in time, the damage will spread and expand to the surrounding area. The center of the lesion will gradually heal automatically and develop to the surrounding area. The inflammation at the edge of the erythema is more obvious, and there may be active rashes, blisters, scabs, and even erosions on it. The center will heal itself and form a ring or semi-ring. Outside the scrotal folds, patients with scrotal wetness may present with scaly patches. After healing, temporary pigmentation will remain and the itching symptoms will be severe.

The causes of scrotal eczema are relatively complex and can be mainly divided into internal factors and external factors:

People with allergic constitution due to internal reasons, those who are under long-term mental stress and have large mood swings are prone to this disease; in addition, people with certain diseases, such as chronic digestive system diseases, endocrine disorders, and metabolic disorders, are also prone to this disease under the influence of external factors.

External causes

1. Underwear factors: tight underwear, wearing synthetic underwear, unreasonable underwear design, etc.

2. Drug factors Drug factors are the main cause of certain eczema, especially eczema-type drug rash.

3. People who work in coal mines, tunnels and other humid places for a long time, or live in humid areas or rooms for a long time are prone to this disease.

4. External stimulation: Sitting for a long time will cause the scrotum to be in a humid and airtight environment. Coupled with the friction between the legs when walking, it is easy to cause friction eczema. Cold or hot weather, excessive sweating, and excessive scratching can also cause eczema.
